Bengaluru-based deep-tech startup Yaanendriya has raised ₹15 crore in a funding round from Mumbai-based venture capital firm Piper Serica to accelerate the development of indigenous navigation, sensing, and control technologies for autonomous systems.
The fresh capital will be used to strengthen the company’s research and development efforts, accelerate product development, and expand its portfolio of high-precision navigation systems designed for mission-critical applications.
Founded by Vamshi Bharadwaj M V, Vyshak Y, Vijay H P, and Aravind Thumbur, Yaanendriya develops advanced sensor, navigation, and control technologies that enable autonomous machines to operate accurately even in environments where Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) signals are unavailable, unreliable, or intentionally disrupted.
Its technology is designed for a wide range of applications, including drones, ground robots, spacecraft, and underwater vehicles.
One of the company’s flagship products is the SynCore navigation controller series, which combines data from multiple sensors to estimate orientation, position, and velocity while supporting real-time stabilization and control. The platform is already being used by robotics companies working across aerial, ground, and underwater applications in sectors such as defence, surveillance, and agriculture.
Yaanendriya has also developed the YDX high-precision inertial sensor series, which is currently deployed across four continents. These sensors are being used in diverse applications, including motion capture for gaming, unmanned vehicles, and surgical robots, highlighting the global adoption of the company’s technology.
Building on its work with government agencies and private enterprises, the startup is now developing advanced versions of SynCore for space and critical navigation missions, including attitude determination and control systems for satellites and orbital platforms as well as navigation and control systems for underwater vehicles operating in GNSS-denied environments.
The company is also working on a hardware-agnostic navigation and control platform that can be easily adapted across different hardware configurations and mission requirements.
In the long term, Yaanendriya aims to develop high-precision MEMS accelerometers and gyroscopes for aerospace, defence, autonomous systems, and the growing NewSpace sector, strengthening India’s indigenous capabilities in sensing, navigation, and control technologies.
The founding team brings expertise across multiple disciplines. Vamshi Bharadwaj M V leads technology, Vyshak Y heads manufacturing, Vijay H P oversees design, while Aravind Thumbur, an alumnus of IIM Ahmedabad with over a decade of entrepreneurial experience, leads business and growth.
The startup is guided by Prof. S. N. Omkar of the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) and was incubated at ARTPARK, the deep-tech innovation platform established by IISc.
Speaking about the funding, Vamshi Bharadwaj M V, Founder of Yaanendriya, said that reliable autonomy depends on a system’s ability to accurately sense motion, understand its state, and control itself. He added that the company began with navigation controllers, later expanded into high-precision inertial sensing, and is now integrating these technologies to support increasingly demanding environments where conventional navigation systems may not work effectively.
According to him, the fresh investment will help the company scale the SynCore and YDX product lines, strengthen its navigation and control platform, and begin developing indigenous MEMS sensors for the next generation of manned and unmanned platforms.
Commenting on the investment, Satyadeep Singh of Piper Serica said that autonomous systems are expected to play a major role across defence, aerospace, industrial automation, and mobility. He noted that Yaanendriya’s combination of hardware, software, and firmware, along with its long-term technology roadmap and execution capabilities, convinced the firm of its potential to build a globally competitive navigation technology company from India.
