Fireside Ventures Leads Rs 8 Cr Seed Round for Men’s Self-Care Startup Unbound

Unbound, a performance-oriented men’s personal care brand, has secured Rs 8 crore in its latest funding round led by Fireside Ventures. The capital infusion marks a significant step for the Gurugram-based startup as it prepares for its official commercial debut in the Indian market.

Strategic Product Launch

The company plans to utilize the fresh capital to roll out its inaugural range of high-efficacy products. Unlike traditional grooming lines, Unbound is positioning itself as a “performance-led” brand, focusing on multi-functional solutions for:

  • Skin Care: Formulated to combat urban stressors like pollution and UV exposure.

  • Hair Care: Specifically engineered to address damage from hard water and sweat.

  • Body Care: Designed for active lifestyles and high-performance routines.

Engineering for the Modern Consumer

Co-founded by Kanika Mittal and Atul Arora, Unbound aims to disrupt a market traditionally dominated by basic hygiene products or repurposed female beauty formulations. The brand’s philosophy centers on “intuitive grooming”—engineering products that combine multiple benefits into a single application to save time for the modern consumer.

“Unbound is designed for the modern man whose lifestyle demands more from his self-care routine,” the company stated in a press release. “Our focus is on engineering high-performance formulations that are both efficient and effective.”

Market Outlook

The investment comes at a pivotal time for India’s men’s grooming sector. As fitness and outdoor activities become central to the lifestyle of younger demographics, there is a growing shift toward adaptive personal care. By addressing specific environmental factors such as humidity, sweat, and hard water, Unbound seeks to capture a niche of consumers looking for specialized, “engineered” solutions rather than generic alternatives.
