Fabheads Raises $10M in Series A to Supercharge Composite Tech for Aerospace & Mobility

Chennai-based deeptech startup Fabheads has raised $10 million in Series A funding led by Accel, with participation from Trifecta Capital, in a significant vote of confidence for India’s emerging composite manufacturing sector.

The fresh funds will be used to scale manufacturing, expand the leadership and R&D teams, and set up a new facility in Bengaluru — aimed at catering to the growing aerospace and global industrial demand. The company plans to make the unit operational within six months.

Founded in 2015 by former ISRO engineers Dhinesh Kanagaraj and Abhijeet Rathore, Fabheads builds robotic automation systems that manufacture carbon fiber and other composite components — replacing manual, time-consuming, and costly fabrication processes.

“Our mission is to revolutionize composite manufacturing with robotics and AI. This funding brings us one step closer to global scale,” said Dhinesh Kanagaraj, CEO & Co-founder of Fabheads.

Fabheads’ proprietary tech claims up to 50% reduction in production costs, 20% less material waste, and significantly shorter build cycles — making it a game-changer across aerospace, mobility, defense, and clean energy sectors.

The company has now raised a total of $13 million, including a $3 million pre-Series A round in 2021.

India’s composites market, currently pegged at $1.8 billion (2024), is expected to grow to $2.8 billion by 2030, as industries globally shift toward lighter, stronger, and more efficient materials.

Fabheads is among the few Indian startups building full-stack hardware and automation capabilities in deeptech, making it one to watch as India’s manufacturing renaissance accelerates.
