Technology-led logistics platform OORJAA has raised Rs 9.7 crore ($1 million) in the first close of its Series A funding round led by Equentis Angel Fund, with participation from Inflection Point Ventures (IPV).
The company said the current funding is the first close of a larger Series A round and that it is in advanced discussions with several venture capital funds for additional capital.
OORJAA plans to deploy the fresh funds towards technology and product development, scaling its proprietary AI and SaaS logistics stack Datashastra, and strengthening its control-tower and automation capabilities.
Founded in 2019 by Sandeep Patil, Prashant Mohite, Yogesh Parab and Umesh Singh, OORJAA operates mid-mile and last-mile logistics networks across more than 200 cities in India.
AI-Powered Logistics Stack
At the centre of OORJAA’s technology offering is Datashastra, its proprietary AI-powered logistics stack designed to improve operational efficiency across logistics networks.
The platform supports route optimisation, reconciliation and 24×7 control-tower visibility, enabling businesses to monitor and manage logistics operations in real time.
Datashastra is also offered as a standalone SaaS product in international markets, expanding OORJAA’s technology proposition beyond its managed logistics operations.
One of the company’s key differentiators is its outcome-linked cost-per-unit model. Under this model, clients pay based on the units moved rather than the logistics assets deployed, allowing businesses to align logistics costs more directly with operational outcomes.
3 Million+ Products Moved Daily
OORJAA claims to move more than 3 million products and 50,000 last-mile orders every day across its network of over 200 cities.
The company says it maintains 95% SLA compliance for enterprise customers, including Zepto, Blinkit, Amazon and Swiggy.
OORJAA is also deploying electric vehicles across dense urban clusters, with the aim of reducing logistics costs while lowering emissions associated with last-mile deliveries.
Previous Funding
The latest Series A first close follows multiple rounds of funding raised by OORJAA in 2023.
In September 2023, the startup raised $1.5 million in a pre-Series A round led by Micello Fund, with participation from Capital-A, Java Capital, Anicut Capital and Lead Angels.
A month later, in October 2023, OORJAA raised Rs 5.35 crore in a pre-Series A 2 round from Inflection Point Ventures, Vinners Platform, Soonicorn Ventures and HEM Angels.
With the latest capital, the company is looking to further invest in its technology infrastructure and expand the capabilities of Datashastra as it scales its logistics operations.
Technology Gains Ground in Logistics
Technology-led logistics platforms are increasingly using AI, SaaS, automation, real-time tracking and data analytics to address inefficiencies in India’s fragmented logistics and supply-chain ecosystem.
OORJAA’s latest fundraise comes alongside growing activity in the sector. Gurugram-based logistics platform TrucksUp recently raised $8.2 million to strengthen its technology platform and streamline trucking operations.
Meanwhile, FreightFox raised Rs 5 crore to scale its transportation management and control-tower platform, while technology-driven EV fleet and fulfilment startup TOCAL secured Rs 9 crore to expand into new cities and build fulfilment infrastructure.
As businesses increasingly seek technology-driven solutions for route optimisation, real-time visibility and cost efficiency, OORJAA is positioning Datashastra and its outcome-linked logistics model to capture a larger share of the growing logistics technology market.
