Climate technology startup Aurassure has successfully closed a Rs 25 crore (approx. $3 million) pre-Series A funding round, earmarking the capital to fuel its international expansion and advance its proprietary climate intelligence platform.
The funding round was jointly led by Rainmatter, the investment arm of Zerodha, and existing investor Unicorn India Ventures. Maithan Alloys Limited also participated in the round, highlighting growing investor interest in scalable solutions for climate resilience.
Hyperlocal Intelligence for a Volatile Climate
Founded in 2022 by Akanksha Priyadarshini, Aurassure has developed a vertically integrated climate intelligence stack that provides real-time, hyperlocal environmental risk data to enterprises and public-sector users.
The platform is a powerful fusion of technology:
-
Street-Level Sensors: A dense network of over 2,000 sensors gathers ground-truth data.
-
Satellite Inputs: Data from space provides broader environmental context.
-
AI-Based Models: Proprietary AI-physics fusion models process the raw data to transform it into predictive early warnings, risk indices, and actionable operational insights.
The platform tracks critical parameters including air quality, heat stress, rainfall, flooding, and wind patterns, enabling organizations in sectors like construction, insurance, healthcare, and infrastructure to proactively manage climate-related risks.
CEO Quote: “Enterprises today need climate intelligence that is immediate, accurate, and hyperlocal. This fundraise enables us to accelerate that mission across the Global South,” said Akanksha Priyadarshini, Co-founder & CEO, Aurassure.
Scaling Across the Global South
The fresh capital will be strategically deployed towards three main areas:
-
International Expansion: The company will focus on high-volatility markets in the Global South, specifically Latin America, South Asia, and Africa, where reliable environmental data is scarce.
-
Product Development: Investing in the Climate Intelligence Analytics Platform, enhancing AI-driven predictive models, and advancing cloud analytics.
-
Hardware Manufacturing: Scaling capabilities for next-generation hyperlocal sensing systems to improve accuracy and cost-efficiency for large-scale deployments.
In the last 12 months, Aurassure has significantly expanded its footprint:
-
Established a wholly-owned subsidiary in Brazil with deployments in over 100 cities.
-
Initiated pilot projects in Bangladesh.
-
Scaled its network to cover 200+ cities in India.
The company has demonstrated strong commercial traction, reporting a 150% year-on-year revenue growth since its last funding round in 2023. Aurassure’s ambitious three-year plan targets deployments in 1,000 cities across its key markets, solidifying its position as an environmental operating system for the Global South.
