Arkahub, a Bengaluru-based full-stack home energy startup, has raised $2 million in a seed funding round led by Kae Capital. The round also saw participation from Sparrow Capital and Antler, marking a significant bet on the future of residential clean energy in India.
The capital will be used to scale Arkahub’s flagship rooftop solar offering and accelerate the development of a broader consumer-focused home energy platform. The startup aims to transition the fragmented residential solar market from a “one-time project” model to a standardized, “product-led” lifecycle experience.
Bridging the 500 GW Gap
While India boasts a massive residential rooftop solar potential of 500 GW, actual adoption remains stalled below 1%. For most Indian households, the journey to “going solar” is plagued by fragmented vendors, complex subsidy paperwork, and concerns over long-term maintenance.
Arkahub is tackling these barriers with a full-stack approach:
-
Standardized Products: Moving away from custom-built projects to branded, reliable solar solutions.
-
Managed Lifecycle: Handling everything from digital system design and regulatory DISCOM approvals to installation and proactive performance monitoring.
-
Proactive Maintenance: Ensuring that the typical 25-year lifespan of a solar system is backed by consistent service rather than disappearing local contractors.
From Rooftop Solar to a Unified Energy Interface
Beyond just panels, Arkahub’s long-term vision is to build a Unified Home Energy Ecosystem. The platform is being designed to allow homeowners to generate, store, and manage their power through a single digital interface. This includes:
-
Solar Generation: High-efficiency rooftop systems.
-
Smart Storage: Integrated battery solutions for night-time usage and grid independence.
-
Energy Management: AI-driven insights to help families optimize their electricity bills and reduce carbon footprints.
The Team: E-commerce Expertise Meets Home Category Depth
The startup is led by a founding team with deep experience in scaling consumer-first categories in India:
-
Manish Pansari (Founder): Formerly a leader at Myntra and a consultant at Kearney, bringing expertise in supply chain and operational scale.
-
Kaustabh Chakraborty (Founder): An early team member at Urban Ladder with subsequent leadership roles at Wakefit, bringing a refined “home category” lens to energy ownership.
“Energy is the last major home utility that hasn’t been consumerized,” said the founders. “We are building Arkahub to make home energy as simple as ordering furniture or fashion online, with the reliability that a 25-year asset deserves.”
