Dron Bammi, Founder, BAC, on redefining airport mobility through safety, transparency, customer experience and an all-electric fleet
In a mobility market increasingly driven by convenience and instant bookings, BAC is taking a different approach. Founded in Gurgaon, the premium airport mobility company is building its proposition around reliability, safety, cleanliness and a differentiated customer experience, backed by an all-electric fleet.
Under its “Not the Usual” philosophy, BAC aims to make standards such as hygienic vehicles, professional chauffeurs, passenger safety and transparent pricing an integral part of the everyday cab experience.
The company began as a self-funded venture with just two vehicles and has been gradually building its presence in Delhi NCR’s airport mobility segment. Rather than pursuing rapid expansion at any cost, BAC is focused on scaling its fleet and operations while maintaining consistency in service.
In this interaction with Indian Startup Times, Dron Bammi, Founder, BAC, discusses the thinking behind the company’s “Not the Usual” philosophy, its decision to operate an all-EV fleet, passenger safety protocols, its Fixed Flat Price model, chauffeur experience, advance-booking approach and his long-term vision for BAC.
Building a Cab Experience That Goes Beyond the Ordinary
For Dron Bammi, the idea behind BAC began with a straightforward question: what would customers actually want from a cab service?
The answer became the foundation of the company’s “Not the Usual” philosophy.
“‘Not the Usual’ was conceived as a commitment to redefine the conventional cab experience for travellers,” Bammi explains.
BAC aims to provide an experience that goes beyond the conventional expectations of a cab ride. Its service proposition includes a hygienic and sanitised fleet, clean interiors, professional chauffeurs, non-smoking vehicles, sealed drinking water and a strong emphasis on passenger safety.
According to Bammi, customer feedback remains central to the company’s evolution.
“For us, the customer remains at the centre of everything we do. As we continue to grow, we are constantly listening, learning and adapting to customer expectations.”
The objective, he says, is simple: make every journey more comfortable, reliable and distinctly different from what customers have come to expect from a conventional cab service.
Why BAC Chose an All-Electric Fleet
BAC’s decision to operate an all-EV fleet is closely connected to its focus on airport transportation.
Airport travellers often carry substantial luggage, making cabin comfort and boot space particularly important. Bammi believes electric vehicles offer advantages in this environment, particularly through quieter cabins and a smoother travel experience.
“Our decision to build an all-EV fleet was driven primarily by the nature of our business,” he says.
According to Bammi, EVs eliminate unnecessary engine noise while supporting BAC’s broader sustainability objective. With suitable charging infrastructure and effective operational planning, vehicles can also be recharged and returned to service efficiently.
However, BAC’s approach to electrification is measured rather than aggressive.
Bammi believes electric mobility represents the future of transportation in India, but also recognises that the EV ecosystem is still developing.
“The Indian EV ecosystem is still evolving, and we want to scale responsibly while keeping pace with technological advancements, improvements in charging infrastructure and the introduction of newer, more efficient vehicle models.”
For BAC, the objective is therefore not simply to operate an electric fleet, but to build an operational model that can scale alongside the country’s evolving EV infrastructure.
‘A Safe Fleet, Rather Than Simply a Large Fleet’
For an airport mobility company, reliability and safety are closely intertwined. BAC’s approach is consequently centred on operational oversight rather than simply increasing the number of vehicles on the road.
“Our philosophy has always been to build a safe fleet, rather than simply a large fleet,” says Bammi.
He believes BAC should be a mobility service that his own family members could use at any hour without apprehension. This personal benchmark, he says, shapes the company’s approach to safety.
BAC vehicles are equipped with GPS and dashcams, providing operational visibility during rides. The company also maintains a dedicated team available around the clock to address customer concerns.
Bammi says he remains personally involved in overseeing late-night operations and ensuring that safety protocols are followed.
The company also follows a careful chauffeur-selection process and conducts random alcohol tests as part of its operational discipline.
For BAC, chauffeurs are more than simply drivers. They are considered partners in the company’s growth and are among the most important representatives of the brand.
“Their professionalism, experience and conduct directly represent the BAC brand, making their role fundamental to the customer experience,” Bammi says.

Fixed Pricing and the Push for Greater Transparency
While BAC operates in a competitive mobility market, Bammi says the company does not necessarily view other mobility players purely as competitors.
The changing landscape of electric mobility, including the gap created following BluSmart’s exit, has created an opportunity for companies to rethink how premium and sustainable mobility services can serve customers.
For BAC, one of its key differentiators is its FFP — Fixed Flat Price — model.
Founded in Gurgaon, BAC offers a fixed fare of ₹750 from major Gurgaon hubs to the airport, with tolls and parking charged separately. The model is designed to provide customers with greater predictability before they book a ride.
Bammi believes affordability should not come at the expense of service quality.
Alongside standard amenities, BAC offers additional conveniences such as doorstep luggage weighing, allowing travellers to check their luggage weight before reaching the airport. Fragrant cabins, tissues and other small details are also part of the company’s effort to differentiate the experience.
“Our philosophy is that affordability and a high-quality experience can, and should, coexist,” he says.
Customer Service Extends Beyond the Ride
For BAC, customer experience does not begin when a passenger enters the vehicle and end when they reach their destination.
The company’s operations and reservations teams are expected to respond promptly to customer queries and provide assistance throughout the booking journey.
Bammi believes responsiveness is fundamental to building trust.
“A customer should never feel that their concern has been overlooked simply because the booking has already been completed,” he says.
This philosophy also applies after the ride. If a passenger leaves an item behind in one of BAC’s vehicles, the company makes an effort to coordinate its recovery and return it to the customer.
Chauffeurs are equally important to this experience. As the first and last point of contact for many customers, their behaviour and presentation directly influence how passengers perceive the brand.
BAC therefore places emphasis on their daily routines and wellbeing.
Bammi summarises the philosophy simply: “Look good, feel good and make the customer feel good.”
The objective is to ensure that chauffeurs arrive professionally presented, energetic and prepared to deliver the experience BAC promises.
Why BAC Is Focused on Advance Bookings
Unlike conventional ride-hailing platforms that are optimised for immediate 5–10 minute bookings, BAC is deliberately focused on a different use case.
The company’s core customers typically know when they need to travel, particularly in the case of airport transfers and city rentals.
Bammi believes advance bookings give BAC the time required to assign the appropriate vehicle and chauffeur, plan the pickup and ensure that the vehicle is clean, charged and ready before it reaches the customer.
“For an airport journey, customers are generally more concerned about punctuality and certainty than whether a cab can arrive within five minutes,” he explains.
This model may result in fewer spontaneous bookings, but Bammi sees that as a deliberate trade-off.
BAC would rather provide a dependable and well-prepared ride than promise instant availability without being certain about the quality of the experience.
As the fleet and operational capacity increase, the company expects to gradually reduce its booking window while maintaining the same service standards.
From Two Vehicles to a Larger Premium Mobility Network
BAC’s growth strategy is deliberately measured.
Having started with just two vehicles as a self-funded company, the business has prioritised customer trust and operational consistency over rapid expansion.
For Bammi, the long-term ambition is significant, but the foundation remains unchanged.
“We want BAC to grow into one of India’s most trusted premium mobility brands, starting with Delhi NCR and expanding thoughtfully as our operations and fleet evolve.”
The company ultimately aspires to operate thousands of vehicles, but Bammi emphasises that scale cannot come at the cost of safety or customer experience.
Every ride, he says, should reflect the principles with which BAC began: punctuality, transparency, clean and comfortable vehicles and attentive customer service.
Looking Ahead: Making ‘Not the Usual’ the Standard
BAC’s journey reflects a broader shift in India’s mobility ecosystem, where customers are increasingly looking beyond basic transportation towards reliability, comfort, transparency and experience.
For Dron Bammi, the company’s biggest ambition is not simply to build a larger fleet, but to build a brand that customers can trust.
“We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who has trusted BAC from the very beginning. Their support has brought us this far, and as we continue to grow, our promise remains the same: to keep delivering an experience that’s Not the Usual.”
As BAC expands beyond its Delhi NCR base, its challenge will be to preserve the service consistency and customer-centric approach that defined its early journey while building the scale required to become a significant player in India’s premium mobility market.
For now, the company’s philosophy remains straightforward: build responsibly, prioritise safety, make the experience better and ensure that every journey feels ‘Not the Usual’.
