Delhi Cabinet Approves Rs 50 Crore Go-Delhi Foundation to Support Startups

The Delhi government has approved the establishment of the Go-Delhi Foundation with an initial corpus of Rs 50 crore to support startups, young innovators and entrepreneurs. The initiative aims to help turn early-stage ideas into practical products and businesses by bringing technical resources, business support and industry connections onto a common platform.

The foundation is designed to support entrepreneurs at different stages of development, from product creation and testing to market readiness and business expansion. It will operate under the Delhi government’s Department of Industries as a not-for-profit organisation.

Go-Delhi Foundation to Support Product Development

The foundation will help startups and micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) access product engineering, prototyping facilities, laboratories and testing infrastructure. These resources are intended to help entrepreneurs develop, refine and validate their products before introducing them to the market.

Alongside technical infrastructure, the initiative will provide mentorship, incubation, business guidance and assistance with certification and market access. It will also facilitate connections with investors, helping entrepreneurs explore opportunities to secure funding and develop their businesses.

By bringing these resources together, the foundation aims to simplify access to the support required to build and scale new ventures.

Startups to Explore Government Pilot Opportunities

The Go-Delhi Foundation will also create opportunities for innovators to develop solutions to practical challenges faced by government departments. These departments will be able to present specific problems for startups and entrepreneurs to address through new products and technologies.

Solutions developed through this process may be tested through pilot projects, with successful products considered for further adoption. This approach could provide startups with opportunities to demonstrate their technologies in real-world settings while enabling government departments to explore new solutions.

Industry and Institutional Partnerships

The foundation will work with industry participants, educational institutions, investors and other partners to strengthen access to entrepreneurial resources across Delhi. It will follow a hub-and-spoke model, using existing facilities and partner institutions to deliver its programmes.

The initiative is intended to bring together technical expertise, infrastructure and business support to create a more accessible environment for emerging enterprises.

Building Delhi’s Startup Ecosystem

With a proposed corpus of Rs 50 crore, the Go-Delhi Foundation adds another support mechanism for startups and innovators in the national capital. Its focus on product development, mentorship, testing facilities and investor connections is aimed at helping entrepreneurs progress from initial concepts to market-ready businesses.

Through its planned network of institutional and industry partnerships, the foundation seeks to strengthen the support available to emerging ventures and encourage innovation, enterprise creation and business growth across Delhi.
