Epik Raises $1 Million to Reinvent Electronics Shopping with ‘Try & Buy’ Quick Commerce Model

India’s quick commerce ecosystem is rapidly evolving beyond groceries and essentials, with startups now exploring high-value categories like electronics and home appliances. Enter Epik, a Bengaluru-based startup that is reimagining how consumers shop for gadgets by bringing the showroom experience directly to their doorstep.

The company has raised $1 million in a pre-seed funding round led by Info Edge Ventures, along with participation from angel investors. The fresh capital will help Epik strengthen its operational backbone and scale its unique “try and buy” model across cities.

Bridging the Gap Between Online Convenience and Offline Experience

Founded by Gotama Gowda, Varun Chopra, and Harsha Reddy, Epik is tackling one of the biggest friction points in electronics shopping: the inability to physically experience products before purchase.

While e-commerce platforms offer convenience and variety, they often fall short when it comes to tactile decision-making especially for high-involvement purchases like appliances and gadgets.

Epik’s solution is simple yet powerful: bring the product and the expert to the customer’s home within 60 minutes.

The ‘Try & Buy’ Experience at Home

At the core of Epik’s offering is its “try and buy” model, where trained experts deliver demo units directly to customers for real-time evaluation.

Consumers can:

  • Physically interact with products before buying
  • Compare multiple options side-by-side
  • Receive guided assistance from trained professionals

This approach blends offline trust with online convenience, enabling more confident purchase decisions.

Backed by Leading Brands

Epik has already built partnerships with over 60 global and domestic brands, including:

  • Philips
  • Samsung
  • Apple
  • Dyson
  • Dell
  • Eureka Forbes

These partnerships allow the platform to offer a wide range of electronics and appliances, catering to diverse consumer needs.

Rapid Growth Since Launch

Operational in Bengaluru since October 2025, Epik claims to have scaled nearly 20x within a short span, indicating strong consumer demand for experiential commerce in electronics.

The startup’s logistics model is built around:

  • Hub-based fulfillment systems
  • Dedicated demo units
  • Trained delivery and product experts

This infrastructure enables fast delivery combined with personalized assistance, a combination rarely seen in traditional e-commerce.

Scaling Infrastructure and Expanding Categories

The newly raised funds will be deployed across three key areas:

  • Fulfillment infrastructure: Building stronger logistics and hub networks
  • Product expansion: Increasing catalogue depth across electronics and appliances
  • Demo operations: Scaling trained personnel and service capabilities

Epik also plans to expand into new cities while enhancing its assisted buying layer, which integrates product discovery with expert guidance.

The Future of Assisted Commerce

Epik represents a broader shift in India’s retail landscape where experience-driven commerce is becoming a key differentiator.

Instead of purely transactional platforms, startups are now focusing on:

  • Customer education
  • Real-world product interaction
  • Guided decision-making

By combining speed, service, and physical product experience, Epik is positioning itself at the intersection of quick commerce and experiential retail.

Redefining How India Buys Electronics

As Indian consumers increasingly seek convenience without compromising on confidence, Epik’s model offers a compelling alternative to both traditional retail stores and standard e-commerce platforms.

With strong early traction, strategic investor backing, and a clear focus on customer experience, the startup is well-positioned to shape the next phase of electronics commerce in India where buying decisions begin at home, not in a showroom.
