ST Telemedia Global Data Centres (India) — one of the country’s leading colocation data centre service providers — has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Maharashtra to develop world-class data centre campuses in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region and Pune.
This partnership underscores STT GDC India’s commitment to strengthening India’s digital infrastructure and advancing the state’s position as a digital innovation hub. The company currently operates across 10 major Indian cities, including Mumbai, Pune, Chennai, Noida, Bengaluru, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Jaipur, and Ahmedabad — solidifying its leadership in the nation’s data centre ecosystem.
₹5,000 Crore Investment to Build AI-Ready Campuses
Under the MoU, STT GDC India will invest up to ₹5,000 crore (S$735 million) to expand its data centre parks in Mumbai and Pune. This includes the establishment of a new large-scale campus in Palava, spread across 27 acres, designed specifically for AI and high-density computing workloads.
The initiative is expected to create over 500 highly skilled jobs and 2,000 indirect employment opportunities, contributing significantly to Maharashtra’s digital and economic growth.
The signing ceremony took place in Mumbai, attended by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Maharashtra, senior government officials, and leadership teams from STT GDC, including Bruno Lopez, President and Group CEO of STT GDC; Bimal Khandelwal, CEO of STT GDC India; and Lalit Kumar, COO of STT GDC India.
