Razorpay has secured the Payment Aggregator Cross-Border (PA-CB) license from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), enabling the fintech firm to fully facilitate both inward and outward cross-border payments under comprehensive regulatory oversight.
This critical authorization allows Razorpay to significantly enhance its support for a diverse range of users, including exporters, SaaS companies, D2C brands, freelancers, and global companies operating in India. The company, whose international payments stack is already utilized by major platforms like Airbnb, Shopify, and Klook, is seeing its cross-border business grow at 40% year-on-year.
Key Capabilities:
-
For Indian Businesses: Accept payments in 130+ currencies via cards, wallets, and local bank transfers, boasting a reported 95% success rate for international transactions.
-
For Global Companies: Offers a single integration to access UPI, RuPay, EMIs, netbanking, and over 100 local Indian payment methods, allowing companies to go live in India without a local entity.
With this license, Razorpay now stands among the few Indian payment fintech companies authorized to offer all three key payment capabilities under a unified infrastructure. Last month, firms like Easebuzz, PayU, and Pine Labs also received integrated authorizations from the RBI.
