Infibeam Avenues Secures RBI Final Approval for Offline Payment Aggregation

Infibeam Avenues has received final regulatory authorisation from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to operate as an offline payment aggregator.

This key approval allows the company to significantly expand its services by handling in-store card and QR-based transactions through Point of Sale (POS) devices.

  • Expanded Service: With the new licence, Infibeam Avenues can now deploy and manage POS machines across various merchant outlets under its well-known CCAvenue brand.

  • Comprehensive Licensure: The firm already holds licences for online payment aggregation, Bharat Bill Pay, and recently obtained in-principle approval from RBI to issue Prepaid Payment Instruments (PPIs). This latest authorisation makes its payment offering nearly comprehensive.

  • Scale of Operations: Infibeam operates a diversified digital platform focusing on digital payment services and e-commerce solutions. For the financial year-ending 2025, the company claims to have processed a massive Rs 8.67 lakh crore in transactions, serving over 10 million merchants across India and internationally.

  • Financial Performance: The approval comes as the company continues strong growth. As per TheKredible, Infibeam’s revenue from operations surged to Rs 1,965 crore in Q2 FY26 from Rs 1,017 crore in Q2 FY25. During the same period, its profit grew by 45% to Rs 68 crore, up from Rs 47 crore.

This move solidifies Infibeam’s position in the rapidly evolving Indian fintech landscape, complementing its existing online payment solutions with a robust offline presence.
