Anjan Umamaheswaran B, Founder of CuriousCats.ai and former Chief Business Officer and Chief Product Officer at HealthifyMe, has announced the launch of OpenChase, a search engine designed to help users explore conversations across social media, videos, forums and news in real time.
Launched on October 19, 2026, OpenChase is available in public beta at openchase.ai, free to use without a waitlist, invite code or sign-in. The platform aims to address a gap in conventional search and AI-powered answers, which often draw heavily on published news and other web content while overlooking conversations and first-hand reactions taking place across social platforms.
The idea emerged from the work behind CuriousCats.ai. As the team developed ways to understand what people were discussing online beyond published news coverage, the underlying technology evolved into a standalone search product with applications extending beyond its original platform.
Announcing the launch, Anjan explained that the team had not initially set out to build a search engine. The need to understand what people were actually saying online led to the development of a way to examine social media conversations more closely. Over time, the capability grew into a product that could address a broader set of information needs.
Bringing Social Media Conversations Into Search
A significant share of online conversations takes place on social platforms, where people share opinions, react to developments and discuss emerging trends. However, finding these conversations alongside news coverage often requires users to search across multiple platforms individually.
OpenChase seeks to simplify this process by bringing content from 10 platforms, alongside news websites, into one search experience. The platforms covered include X, Reddit, YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Threads, LinkedIn, Substack and Medium.
Users can explore content from the last 24 hours, organised by platform and story, and search across individual countries or multiple countries simultaneously. This allows them to examine how a topic is being discussed across different online communities rather than relying solely on published articles.
AI-Powered Summaries With Verifiable Sources
One of OpenChase’s key features is its AI-generated overview, which identifies themes within search results and labels them by tone, including factual, speculative, critical and celebratory.
The platform also allows users to examine the sources behind each theme. Every theme can be opened to reveal the original posts, helping readers review the underlying conversations and assess the context for themselves.
According to the company, summaries are generated from the material found during a search, with results appearing as different platforms are read. Individual content cards link to their original posts, and the platform does not invent likes, views or quotations.
OpenChase is also accessible on mobile devices without requiring users to download an application or sign in. The company states that it does not store IP addresses and does not use cookies.
Supporting Journalists, Brands and AI Builders
OpenChase is designed for users who need timely access to online conversations. Journalists and creators can use the platform to find first-hand reactions to developing stories, while researchers and analysts can track discussions across countries and platforms without switching between multiple tools.
For brand, communications and marketing teams, the platform offers a way to examine how campaigns, product launches and customer complaints are being discussed online. By bringing conversations together and linking them to original sources, OpenChase can help teams investigate public reactions across platforms.
The search engine also targets AI builders and developers who need current social media and news context for their tools and agents. Its source-linked approach is designed to make relevant online discussions more accessible to both people and AI-powered systems.
Expanding Into AI and Developer Tools
Alongside the public beta, CuriousCats.ai has outlined a developer-focused expansion for October 23, 2026. The planned offering includes connectors for Claude and ChatGPT, Model Context Protocol (MCP) support for coding agents such as Cursor, Claude Code, Codex and VS Code, and a REST API for businesses.
The company has opened a waitlist for these upcoming capabilities through the Agents & API section of the OpenChase website.
With OpenChase, Anjan Umamaheswaran B and the CuriousCats.ai team are extending their work in understanding online conversations into a broader search experience. By bringing social media discussions and news together, the platform aims to help users explore not only what has been published but also what people are saying about a topic as it unfolds.
