As India’s digital economy grows, the question of how companies manage and protect user data has never been more urgent. Stepping up to this challenge is Redacto, a Hyderabad-based startup that has just raised ₹12 crore (around $1.4 million) in a seed funding round led by PeerCapital and Antler India, with participation from a group of angel investors.
The company plans to use the funds to enhance its AI systems, expand its product and engineering teams, and drive enterprise adoption among financial institutions and digital businesses navigating the complex world of data compliance.
Founded in 2025 by Shashank Karincheti and Amit Kumar, Redacto is building an AI-powered data privacy and governance platform that helps organisations automate compliance, manage sensitive data, and monitor how third parties handle information.
At a time when India’s Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act is reshaping enterprise data practices, Redacto is already partnering with payment firms and NBFCs, while engaging with banks, fintechs, and insurance companies preparing to meet the new regulatory framework.
Its platform brings together key functions like data mapping, consent management, vendor risk checks, breach workflows, and regulatory reporting — all within a single intelligent system.
Redacto’s product suite is built around four core modules:
-
Privacy Engine for automated data discovery
-
ConsentFlow for managing user permissions
-
VendorShield for third-party risk monitoring
-
TrustCentre for transparency and compliance sharing
By offering a unified, AI-driven view of an organisation’s privacy posture, Redacto aims to make compliance a proactive, data-secure, and business-friendly process rather than a reactive one.
In India’s fast-evolving privacy-tech ecosystem, Redacto stands alongside players such as SecurWeave, Privado, TrustCheckr, Scrut Automation, Luciditi, and Seclore, but carves its own niche through deep AI integration and industry-focused compliance workflows.
As the digital infrastructure of India scales, Redacto’s mission is clear — to make trust the default language of enterprise data.
