From Ahmedabad to the Stars: Omspace Raises $3M to Power India’s Next Leap in Space-Tech

When Ravindra Raj Binod Mistri, Maulik Mota, and Stutika Padamshali co-founded Omspace Rocket and Exploration back in 2020, they weren’t just launching a startup—they were launching a vision. A vision where space wouldn’t just be the playground of billionaires or big governments, but a frontier accessible to innovators, researchers, and dreamers from across India and beyond.

Fast forward to today, the Ahmedabad-based space-tech venture has secured $3 million in pre-seed funding, backed by a Family Office and an angel investor who see the same potential the founders did: a future where reusable launch vehicles and fuel-efficient systems can dramatically reduce the cost of getting to orbit.

With support from CrAdLE (Centre for Advancing & Launching Enterprises), the startup has spent the last few years building something truly ambitious—Infinity One, a prototype system capable of delivering up to 350 kg of payload to altitudes as high as 800 km. Designed for precision, efficiency, and reusability, the system is tailored for the rapidly expanding demand in small and nano satellite launches.

“This funding is more than capital—it’s validation,” said Mistri, reflecting on the journey so far. “It marks a major milestone in our mission to democratise access to space from India. CrAdLE and EDII believed in us when all we had was an idea and a goal. Today, we’re a few steps closer to making that dream real.”

The fresh funds will go toward finalising and test-launching the Infinity One prototype, expanding the R&D team, onboarding specialised engineering talent, and scaling up manufacturing and ground systems. The company’s confidence in its roadmap is also evident in its global ambitions—with the recent launch of its UAE-based branch, OSRE FZC, and plans already underway for a first commercial mission by January 2028.

At a time when the world is looking at space as the next big opportunity, Omspace is quietly carving out a niche—with homegrown innovation, frugal engineering, and a bold belief that India can lead the way in accessible space tech.

As space becomes the new highway of the 21st century, startups like Omspace are making sure India has a fast lane of its own.
