Fraganote Raises $1 Million in Pre-Series A Round Led by Rukam Capital

Fraganote, an Indian luxury fragrance brand, has raised $1 million in a pre-Series A funding round led by Rukam Capital. The company plans to utilise the funds to expand its fragrance portfolio, introduce new scent-forward product formats, and pilot offline retail experiences to deepen consumer engagement.

Founded in 2022 by Arjun Anand and Garima Kakkar, Fraganote focuses on crafting artisanal, small-batch perfumes with high concentrations of perfume oil for long-lasting impact. With a commitment to creating culturally resonant and narrative-led fragrances, the brand has built a collection of uniquely named scents like Baked Vanilla, Drunken Cake, and Beach Holiday.

“We are building a luxury fragrance brand that is born in India but belongs everywhere,” said Garima Kakkar, Co-Founder of Fraganote. “We believe India needs its own iconic perfume house—one that is modern, accessible, and built for a new generation of consumers who view brands as communities.”

The startup, based in Delhi, is also focused on elevating how Indian consumers discover and connect with fragrances. Its in-house team of perfume aficionados designs concepts that align with the evolving aspirations and lifestyles of modern India.

The timing of Fraganote’s expansion comes as India’s fragrance market sees strong momentum. According to market data, the segment was valued at $281 million in FY2024 and is expected to grow at a CAGR of 15.23%, reaching $873.3 million by FY2032.

With this capital infusion and a clear focus on storytelling through scent, Fraganote aims to establish itself as a pioneering homegrown perfume house on the global stage.
