Ekatra Reaches ₹100 Crore Valuation Within 100 Days of Launch, Raises ₹10 Crore

Mumbai-based lab-grown diamond jewellery brand Ekatra will use the fresh capital to expand its brand, retail footprint and product innovation across India and international markets.

Mumbai-based Ekatra Retail Ventures Pvt. Ltd. has raised ₹10 crore in strategic investment at a valuation of ₹100 crore, just 100 days after its launch.

The company said the round was backed by strategic investors and follows ₹10 crore in founder capital invested over two years of pre-launch research and development. The fresh funds will support brand building, retail expansion and product innovation across India and international markets.

Ekatra Announces Ekta Kapoor and Sussanne Khan as Co-Founders

Founded by Pavitra Gandhi, Ekatra has announced Ekta Kapoor and Sussanne Khan as Co-Founders of Ekatra Jewels, with Sussanne Khan also taking on the role of Co-Founder and Design Director.

The company has developed a vertically integrated, end-to-end value chain that it describes as a “farm-to-finger” model.

Ekatra grows and cuts its own Type IIa lab-grown diamonds, which the company describes as the rarest category of diamonds, accounting for roughly 2% of all diamonds. It also holds four patented cuts, including the 108-facet Shristi Ratna™, along with proprietary hollow gold construction technology.

Engineering Lightweight Fine Jewellery

The funding announcement comes at a time when gold prices in India have crossed ₹1.5 lakh per 10 grams, with prices up more than 30% over the past year, according to the company.

Against this backdrop, Ekatra has focused its two-year pre-launch R&D programme on reducing the amount of gold required to create large-format jewellery without compromising its visual scale.

Its proprietary hollow gold construction technology is designed to create statement jewellery using a fraction of the gold typically required for pieces of comparable volume.

Sussanne Khan Launches OH MY GOLD Collection

Sussanne Khan’s newly launched OH MY GOLD collection represents the first major expression of Ekatra’s lightweight jewellery approach.

The collection combines real gold, lab-grown diamonds and the company’s hollow construction technology to create large, statement-style pieces that are designed to remain lightweight and suitable for everyday wear.

The approach reflects Ekatra’s broader focus on combining design, technology and engineering to rethink traditional fine jewellery formats.

Building a Global Luxury Brand From India

Ekatra said it has developed a library of more than 5,000 designs for markets including India, the United States and the Middle East.

The company plans to use the latest investment to strengthen its brand presence, expand its retail network and continue product development as it looks to establish a globally relevant luxury jewellery brand originating from India.

Focus on Vertical Integration and Innovation

According to founder Pavitra Gandhi, Ekatra’s strategy is built around controlling the entire journey, from diamond innovation and jewellery craftsmanship to the consumer experience.

The company believes its vertically integrated model, proprietary diamond cuts and lightweight gold technology can help differentiate it in the evolving luxury jewellery market.

With its ₹100 crore valuation achieved within 100 days of launch and fresh strategic capital, Ekatra is now looking to scale its technology-led jewellery proposition across domestic and international markets.
