Foodtech and quick commerce platform Swiggy has expanded the responsibilities of three senior executives across its Instamart and Food Marketplace businesses as the company continues to strengthen its leadership structure.
Himavant Kurnala has been appointed Chief Growth and Product Officer at Instamart, Nitesh Garg has taken charge as Chief Technology Officer at Instamart, while Saurav Goyal has been named Chief Operating Officer of the Food Marketplace.
Kurnala to Lead Growth and Product at Instamart
Kurnala has been leading Instamart’s product function since 2024. He later took on responsibilities across growth and brand marketing.
In his expanded role as Chief Growth and Product Officer, Kurnala will oversee Growth, Marketing, Analytics and Product for Instamart.
The expanded mandate brings together key functions as Swiggy continues to scale its quick commerce business and compete in India’s rapidly growing instant delivery market.
Garg Takes Charge of Instamart Technology
Nitesh Garg has been with Swiggy for more than seven years. Before the latest appointment, he served as Senior Vice President and led engineering for Instamart and New Initiatives.
As Chief Technology Officer of Instamart, Garg will now oversee the technology function for the quick commerce business.
His expanded technology mandate comes as Instamart continues to invest in its platform and operational capabilities.
Goyal Named Food Marketplace COO
Saurav Goyal joined Swiggy in 2020 and has held multiple roles across the company, including Business Finance for Food and Instamart, Driver and Delivery Product, and Operations.
As Chief Operating Officer of the Food Marketplace, Goyal will oversee Food Customer Experience while continuing to lead Driver and Delivery.
Sidharth Bhakoo continues to serve as Chief Business Officer of the Food Marketplace, while Gautam Swaroop remains Chief Business Officer of Instamart.
Leadership Changes Continue at Instamart
The latest appointments come amid a series of leadership changes at Swiggy’s quick commerce business.
Former Myntra CEO Nandita Sinha was appointed CEO of Instamart effective August 3, succeeding Amitesh Jha, who resigned to pursue other opportunities.
Sinha’s appointment followed the exits of other senior executives, including COO Ankit Jain and CBO Hari Kumar.
Jain recently joined Nykaa to lead its quick commerce business, Nykaa Now.
Earlier this year, Swapnil Bajpai was elevated to CEO of Swiggy’s Dineout and Scenes business.
With the latest changes, Swiggy is reshaping responsibilities across its core food delivery and quick commerce businesses as it continues to scale both segments.
