dubdub Raises $1.3 Million Seed Funding Led by 3one4 Capital, Antler and Stellaris Venture Partners

dubdub, a swipe-based trivia and puzzle application, has raised $1.3 million in an equity seed funding round led by 3one4 Capital, Antler and Stellaris Venture Partners. The startup plans to deploy the capital towards expanding its product and engineering teams, introducing new interactive formats and strengthening personalisation across its content feed.

Launched in March 2026, dubdub has crossed 20,000 downloads. The company also reports early user retention above the top percentile of casual games, indicating promising initial engagement with its interactive entertainment model.

The startup is building a mobile experience that replaces conventional passive content consumption with short, interactive activities designed to encourage users to answer questions, solve puzzles, recognise content, make predictions and compete with friends.

From Passive Scrolling to Interactive Entertainment

dubdub’s core proposition is built around a shift in how users engage with digital content. Rather than simply scrolling through videos or posts, users interact with questions, quizzes and mini-games through a swipe-based interface.

The platform offers content across more than 20 categories, including cricket, Bollywood, pop culture, general knowledge, mythology and logical reasoning. This range allows users to engage with subjects that match their interests while discovering new areas through short, interactive challenges.

The application also incorporates social features that enable users to challenge friends and compare scores, adding a competitive dimension to the experience.

Artificial intelligence and user interaction data help personalise the feed, allowing the platform to tailor challenges according to individual interests and engagement patterns.

With this approach, Dubdub aims to create an entertainment experience in which each interaction offers an opportunity to participate rather than merely consume content.

Funding to Strengthen Product Development and Personalisation

The newly raised capital will support dubdub’s next phase of product development. The company plans to hire across product and engineering, introduce additional interactive formats and deepen the personalisation of its content recommendations.

These investments are intended to help the startup improve the user experience as it expands beyond its initial trivia and puzzle offerings.

Kaustubh Priye, CEO and Co-founder of dubdub, said the company was founded on the belief that users want opportunities to test their knowledge, discover their strengths and enjoy content through participation.

“We started dubdub with a simple belief: people don’t just want to consume content, they want to test themselves, discover what they are good at and have fun along the way. Every swipe should give you a reason to participate, whether you are answering a question, recognising a song, solving a puzzle or challenging a friend,” Priye said.

He added that the founders’ previous experience of building and selling a company had shaped their focus on user retention as a key measure of product performance.

“Having built and sold a company before, we know retention is the clearest signal that a product is working, and our early numbers tell us users are finding real value in dubdub. This funding lets us bring in strong talent, keep experimenting and build something people return to because it is genuinely enjoyable, not simply because it is in their feed,” he said.

Second Venture for Founders Behind Aldun

dubdub is the second company built by Priye and Supan Shah, who previously co-founded Aldun, a health-tech company that developed technology to simplify hospital insurance processing and patient discharge.

Aldun worked with major hospital groups, including Apollo, Aster, Fortis, Manipal and Narayana, before being acquired by Care.Fi.

The founders bring more than 30 years of combined experience building technology products at companies such as Flipkart, Udaan and OnMobile.

Their experience across technology, product development and consumer-facing platforms forms part of dubdub’s approach to building an interactive entertainment product focused on personalisation and engagement.

The founders’ previous entrepreneurial journey also provides context for their emphasis on retention and repeat usage as the company develops its product.

Investors See an Opportunity in Participatory Content

Investors backing dubdub believe changing consumer habits and advances in artificial intelligence could create opportunities for new forms of digital entertainment.

Akshay Sharma, Principal at 3one4 Capital, said consumer content habits were evolving towards short, engaging experiences that require limited commitment while holding users’ attention.

He also highlighted the role of AI in changing the economics of content creation and personalisation, enabling companies to create and test content more quickly and at a lower cost.

“What stood out to us about Kaustubh and Supan is that they are not taking an existing format and trying to make it marginally better. They have started from first principles, asking what makes a moment of content genuinely worth someone’s time and how to build a product that learns the answer for every individual user,” Sharma said.

He added that the firm was pleased to partner with the founders at the beginning of their journey.

Rajiv Srivatsa, Founding Partner at Antler, similarly pointed to the potential shift from passive scrolling towards more interactive digital experiences.

He noted that users increasingly engage with short-form content through activities such as guessing, solving and predicting, while AI is making personalised interactive content more practical to develop at scale.

“Kaustubh and Supan bring exceptional clarity, ambition and deep experience across recommendation systems, personalisation, gamification and content technology. We’re excited by their vision to create an interactive short-form media experience that turns the feed into something users participate in, not just scroll through,” Srivatsa said.

The investors’ perspectives reflect a broader interest in consumer platforms that combine short-form engagement, personalised recommendations and interactive features.

AI and Personalisation at the Centre of the Product Strategy

For dubdub, artificial intelligence is an important component of its strategy to deliver personalised content at scale. By using user interests and interaction patterns to tailor challenges, the startup aims to make the experience more relevant to individual users.

AI-assisted content development could also help the company experiment with new formats and categories more efficiently. However, sustained growth will depend on its ability to maintain content quality, deliver meaningful personalisation and encourage users to return regularly.

The company’s early download numbers and reported retention performance provide initial indicators of engagement, although its ability to sustain those metrics as the user base grows remains an important factor in its development.

As it expands its product and engineering teams, dubdub plans to introduce additional interactive formats and work towards a broader platform for interactive short-form entertainment.

Building the Next Generation of Short-Form Entertainment

dubdub’s $1.3 million seed round comes as the startup seeks to establish a distinct position in the consumer entertainment market by combining trivia, puzzles, gamification and AI-powered personalisation.

With backing from 3one4 Capital, Antler and Stellaris Venture Partners, the company intends to build on its early traction and expand the range of experiences available to users.

Its long-term opportunity will depend on whether it can turn brief interactions into consistent engagement while differentiating itself from established short-form content and gaming platforms.

For the founders, the central ambition is to create a product that makes participation an integral part of digital entertainment. The latest funding provides resources to test that vision as dubdub moves towards its next stage of growth.
