Beyond Renewables & Recycling Raises ₹5 Crore to Tackle India’s Solar Waste Challenge

Climate-tech startup Beyond Renewables & Recycling has raised ₹5 crore in a pre-seed funding round led by Momentum Capital, a US-based venture capital firm, with participation from Venture Catalysts, IIMA Ventures, Oorjan Cleantech, and Gautam Das.

The funds will be used to accelerate the development of the company’s proprietary recycling technology, strengthen its solar waste supply chain, and scale operations to address India’s growing solar waste management challenge, the company announced in a press release.

Founded in 2024 by Manhar Dixit and Vedant Taneja, Beyond Renewables & Recycling is building a circular economy for the solar industry through advanced recycling of end-of-life solar panels. The company claims to recover over 95% of constituent materials, including high-purity glass, silicon, silver, copper, and aluminum, using its proprietary processes.

With India projected to generate 1.2 million tons of solar PV waste by 2040 — and up to 4.8 million tons in an early-loss scenario — Beyond Renewables is positioning itself as a frontrunner in sustainable solar waste management.

Leveraging a blend of thermal and chemical extraction technologies, the company transforms hazardous solar waste into sustainably sourced, reusable raw materials, such as glass and precious metals.

Beyond Renewables has also developed a multi-channel waste sourcing strategy, partnering with EPCs, asset developers, manufacturers, and dismantlers to ensure a reliable waste pipeline. The company currently has over 2,000 metric tons of solar waste secured and is expanding collaborations with module manufacturers, EPC players, and asset owners.

Supported by IIT Mandi Catalyst and NSRCEL, Beyond Renewables & Recycling is also strengthening its sales network and has secured multiple Letters of Intent (LOIs) from buyers for recycled materials such as silicon, glass, and aluminum.

“Our vision is to make solar truly sustainable by closing the loop on solar waste. This funding will accelerate our mission to turn discarded panels into valuable raw materials while creating a cleaner, circular ecosystem for India’s renewable future,” said Manhar Dixit, Co-founder of Beyond Renewables & Recycling.
