In a country where arranged marriages are often driven by caste, income, and family background, Moulik Goyal is trying to change the conversation. Through his platform, “Make My Knot,” he is bringing a more thoughtful and compatibility-focused approach to matchmaking—one that combines decades of family experience with technology, counseling, and emotional understanding.
What makes his journey interesting is that it didn’t begin with a business idea alone. It began with observation. Growing up in a family deeply involved in matchmaking for over 50 years, Moulik witnessed how many marriages were built around social expectations rather than emotional compatibility. Over time, he realized that while traditional filters may help families shortlist matches, they don’t necessarily build lasting relationships.
According to Moulik, compatibility goes far beyond education, salary, or caste. Personality, communication style, emotional maturity, and personal values are what truly shape a successful marriage. This belief became the foundation of Make My Knot.
One experience particularly stayed with him—a young woman who openly refused marriage because she felt unheard and pressured by conventional expectations. Instead of convincing her otherwise, Moulik chose to listen. That moment reinforced his belief that matchmaking should start with understanding individuals, not simply arranging profiles.
Before entering the matchmaking space full-time, Moulik worked in the travel and hospitality industry. He believes that experience helped him understand people better. Hospitality, according to him, is not about selling services but understanding emotions and expectations. He applies the same mindset to matchmaking today, where listening is often more important than advising.
Through Make My Knot, Moulik has introduced pre-marital counseling as an important part of the matchmaking process. He says many people enter relationships without clearly understanding their own non-negotiables, expectations, or emotional needs. Counseling sessions help individuals explore these aspects before making life-changing decisions.
The platform also integrates AI to improve matchmaking recommendations. However, Moulik is careful to clarify that technology is only a support system—not the final decision-maker. AI may identify behavioral patterns and compatibility indicators, but real relationships still depend on human connection and understanding.
Interestingly, the platform has seen strong engagement from women, who form a significant portion of its user base. Many users are looking for meaningful compatibility rather than superficial matching criteria. Most clients fall within the 27–35 age group, and Moulik says building trust with them requires empathy, patience, and honest conversations rather than traditional matchmaking pressure.
Even the brand name has an interesting story. Initially launched as “Weddings.ai,” the company later rebranded to “Make My Knot” after feedback from a friend. The new identity felt more personal, emotional, and relatable. Its tagline, “From handshake to fera,” reflects the platform’s goal of supporting couples throughout the entire relationship journey—not just introducing them.
Building trust as a young founder in a traditional industry has not always been easy. Many initially questioned whether someone from a younger generation could truly understand the emotional depth of marriage and relationships. Moulik addressed this skepticism by focusing on detailed conversations, personalized guidance, and a people-first approach.
Today, recognition as one of the rising founders of 2026 has added momentum to his journey, but Moulik believes the real achievement lies in helping people build healthier relationships and stronger families.
Looking ahead, his vision is to make Make My Knot one of India’s most trusted platforms for intentional and compatibility-driven matchmaking—where technology supports human emotions instead of replacing them.
At a time when modern dating often feels rushed and transactional, Moulik Goyal is building something different: a matchmaking platform rooted in listening, understanding, and meaningful connection.
