Samara Capital Acquires Stakes in ARC and Calyx to Build Integrated Logistics Platform

Private equity firm Samara Capital has acquired stakes in Associated Road Carriers (ARC) and Calyx Container Terminals, bringing the two businesses together to build an integrated logistics platform.

According to a Mint report, Samara has invested around ₹1,200 crore, with the promoters and the private equity firm holding nearly equal stakes in the new entity.

The combined platform brings together ARC’s B2B road transportation network and Calyx’s container freight station operations at Chennai Port. Together, the two businesses reported revenue of around ₹2,140 crore in FY26.

The fresh capital will be directed towards expanding the companies’ branch and hub network, strengthening first- and last-mile capabilities, and upgrading technology infrastructure. The platform may also explore acquisitions as part of its expansion across India.

Samara plans to develop a nationwide logistics business covering both domestic and EXIM cargo, while investing in technology, data analytics, engineering and process improvements to strengthen operations.

By combining ARC’s road network with Calyx’s port-linked infrastructure, the platform aims to provide logistics services across multiple stages of the supply chain.
