Seafood infrastructure startup Dam Good Fish has raised a strategic funding round at a valuation of around Rs 30 crore (approximately $3.6 million), as it looks to scale its operations and strengthen its technology backbone.
The Gurugram-based company plans to utilise the fresh capital to enhance its AI-driven demand and supply systems, expand its processing and supply infrastructure, enter new metro markets, and build teams across supply chain, data, and operations.
Building a Demand-Driven Seafood Model
Founded in 2023 by Shobhit Gaur and Shailesh Patel, Dam Good Fish focuses on delivering ultra-fresh, naturally raised fish directly from dams to consumers. The startup emphasises chemical-free seafood, along with sustainability and transparency across its operations.
At the core of its model is a unique “Demand-to-Harvest” operating system, where demand is predicted at the pincode level, and harvesting is aligned with actual consumption patterns. This approach helps optimise inventory and reduce wastage.
AI at the Core of Operations
Dam Good Fish integrates artificial intelligence across key functions, including demand forecasting, procurement planning, inventory optimisation, and cold-chain monitoring. Its controlled cold-chain network ensures better product quality while improving operational efficiency.
In the Delhi NCR market, the company reports a repeat purchase rate of over 55%, with a customer base of more than 5,000 active households. It has also partnered with B2B platforms such as Hyperpure to strengthen its distribution network.
Expansion Plans Ahead
Currently focused on strengthening its presence in Delhi NCR, Dam Good Fish is planning to expand into Mumbai and Bengaluru. The company aims to grow in a calibrated manner, focusing on pincode-level density, repeat consumption, and predictable demand cycles.
With its tech-enabled approach and focus on sustainability, Dam Good Fish is positioning itself as a key player in India’s evolving seafood supply chain ecosystem.
