Zepto Steps Into 10-Minute Medicine Delivery With Zepto Pharmacy

In the fast-moving world of quick commerce, Zepto is taking its speed to the next level — this time with medicines. The company has officially launched Zepto Pharmacy, a 10-minute medicine delivery service now available in select areas of Mumbai, Bengaluru, Delhi NCR, and Hyderabad.

For the past year, Zepto has quietly been running the service on a small scale, perfecting every aspect — from customer experience to supply chain efficiency and compliance with medical regulations.

“Our objective is to keep operational standards extremely high and not scale too rapidly given the complexity of this category,” says Aadit Palicha, CEO and co-founder of Zepto.

With this move, Zepto joins the growing list of quick commerce rivals venturing into prescription drug delivery — a space that demands meticulous care, regulatory adherence, and trust. While over-the-counter medicines have long been available on such platforms, delivering prescription drugs introduces an added layer of responsibility, requiring valid prescriptions and strict safety measures.

The competition is heating up. Last month, Blinkit began testing prescription medicine delivery in select Bengaluru pin codes, complete with free doctor consultations for customers without prescriptions. Orders are handled by licensed pharmacies and arrive in tamper-proof packaging.

Meanwhile, Swiggy has entered the race via a partnership with PharmEasy, integrating prescription drug sales into its platform through a shop-in-shop model.

As players race to bring convenience to healthcare, one thing is certain — your next prescription might just arrive faster than your morning coffee.
