Uber India Unveils ‘Uber Direct’ B2B Logistics Service in Partnership with ONDC

Ride-hailing giant Uber India has officially launched Uber Direct, its first business-to-business (B2B) logistics service in the country, marking a strategic expansion beyond mobility. The service is powered through a partnership with the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC), enabling merchants on the ONDC network to seamlessly access Uber’s vast delivery infrastructure.

At the time of launch, Uber Direct is already facilitating grocery deliveries for major clients such as Zepto and KPN Farm Fresh. The company has announced plans to expand operations across additional cities and categories including restaurant deliveries, e-commerce logistics, and other on-demand delivery services.

The initiative highlights Uber’s ambition to evolve into a comprehensive logistics and digital commerce player in India. Prabhjeet Singh, President of Uber India & South Asia, stated that Uber Direct is designed as a “plug-and-play solution” allowing businesses to leverage Uber’s delivery network without the burden of maintaining their own fleet.

Uber currently operates courier-focused offerings like Uber Courier and Uber Courier X, both of which have seen strong adoption among small businesses and individual users, collectively reaching millions nationwide.

Beyond logistics, Uber’s partnership with ONDC also extends into other digital services, including metro ticket booking directly via the Uber app—further reinforcing the company’s transition from a mobility platform to a broader digital commerce enabler.
