Global investment firm Steadview Capital has officially appointed Maneesh Menon as its new India Director, filling a key leadership role for the technology-focused hedge fund in the region.
Menon joins the firm from Eight Roads Ventures, where he served as a member of the investment team. His transition to Steadview comes at a strategic time for the fund as it continues to manage a robust portfolio of high-growth Indian startups.
Filling the Leadership Gap
The position at Steadview had been vacant since October of last year following the exit of Puneet Kumar. Kumar subsequently took on the role of India CEO at Mirae Asset Venture Investments.
By securing Menon, Steadview aims to stabilize its local leadership and maintain its aggressive investment pace within the Indian tech ecosystem.
A $3 Billion Portfolio Strategy
Steadview Capital currently manages over $3 billion in assets. The firm is known for its “crossover” approach, investing in both public and private entities. Their portfolio reads like a “who’s who” of the Indian unicorn landscape, including:
- Consumer Tech: Zomato, Nykaa, and Ola.
- EdTech & Services: Unacademy and Urban Company.
- SaaS & Fintech: Freshworks, Chargebee, and PolicyBazaar.
- Emerging Tech: Ultrahuman, Atomberg, and Zetwerk.
With this appointment, Menon is expected to oversee existing partnerships and scout for new opportunities in India’s evolving digital economy.
