In a major step toward strengthening India’s enterprise artificial intelligence ecosystem, Reliance Intelligence Limited (RIL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Reliance Industries Limited, has entered into a joint venture with Facebook Overseas Inc., a subsidiary of Meta Platforms Inc.
The new entity, Reliance Enterprise Intelligence Limited (REIL), will focus on developing, marketing, and deploying enterprise-grade AI solutions across India, marking one of the country’s most significant collaborations in the technology and digital transformation space.
According to a stock exchange filing, the company was incorporated on October 24, 2025, with an initial investment of ₹2 crore. Reliance Intelligence subscribed to 20 lakh equity shares of ₹10 each as part of the incorporation.
Investment and Ownership Structure
Under the joint venture agreement, Reliance Intelligence and Facebook Overseas Inc. have jointly committed an investment of ₹855 crore in REIL. The ownership structure will see Reliance Intelligence hold a 70% stake, while Facebook (Meta) will own the remaining 30%.
The exchange filing further clarified that the transaction does not qualify as a related-party transaction, and none of the company’s promoters or group companies have any direct interest in the venture.
Driving AI Innovation at Scale
The partnership aims to accelerate AI adoption among Indian enterprises, leveraging Reliance’s extensive industry reach and Meta’s advanced capabilities in AI research, data analytics, and cloud infrastructure.
The newly formed entity is expected to focus on AI-driven automation, predictive analytics, customer experience enhancement, and digital infrastructure solutions tailored for sectors such as telecom, manufacturing, financial services, and retail.
Industry experts see this collaboration as a strategic move aligning with India’s AI mission, as both companies look to capitalize on the country’s growing demand for enterprise automation and AI-based business intelligence platforms.
With Reliance’s robust digital ecosystem and Meta’s AI expertise, the partnership is likely to shape India’s next phase of intelligent enterprise transformation.
