ixigo-Backed SqaaS Debuts ShellBot AI Agent Platform

SqaaS (Squad As Service S.L.), the Spanish AI startup recently backed by Indian travel tech giant ixigo, has officially launched ShellBot, a platform designed to let users deploy autonomous AI agents that operate 24/7.

The rollout marks a significant milestone for ixigo following its February 2026 acquisition of a 45.02% stake in the Madrid-based firm. The move signals a pivot from simple chatbots toward “agentic” AI—systems capable of managing complex, end-to-end workflows without constant human intervention.

Autonomous Agents for Everyday Workflows

ShellBot is positioned as a bridge between experimental AI and functional infrastructure. Unlike standard LLM interfaces, the platform allows both enterprises and individual power users to build assistants that integrate directly into existing digital environments to automate research, travel planning, and administrative tasks.

“We are betting on a future where AI agents are embedded in everyday workflows,” the company stated, emphasizing a focus on security and ease of use to drive mainstream adoption.

Pricing and Subscription Tiers

The platform operates on a recurring revenue model to support its autonomous processing capabilities:

  • Standard Plan: Starts at $29 per month.

  • Pro Plan: Priced at $59 per month, offering advanced features for power users and developers.

Strategic Synergy with ixigo

The launch of ShellBot is a central pillar of ixigo’s European expansion strategy. By integrating SqaaS technology with its existing ecosystem—including ConfirmTkt, AbhiBus, and the recently acquired Spanish rail platform Trenes—ixigo aims to dominate the intelligent travel automation sector.

Founded in 2023, SqaaS received a €0.45 million investment from ixigo earlier this year. This partnership is expected to accelerate the R&D of specialized travel tools, leveraging Trenes’ local market expertise and SqaaS’s technical architecture to deliver hyper-personalized booking experiences across the continent.
