Bengaluru-based children’s technology startup Wippi will use the fresh capital to strengthen its voice AI, expand its engineering and AI teams, scale manufacturing in India, and grow its direct-to-consumer business.
Bengaluru-based children’s technology startup Wippi has raised $1.2 million in a seed funding round led by 12 Flags, with participation from Warmup Ventures, Ventana Ventures, and Ruvento Ventures.
The fresh capital will support the development of Wippi’s voice AI technology, expansion of its engineering and AI teams, manufacturing scale-up in India, and growth of its direct-to-consumer business. The company also plans to expand its portfolio of characters, languages, and original content.
Building Screen-Free Technology for Children
Founded by Rishabh Singhi and Siddhartha Jain, Wippi develops screen-free products that combine conversational voice AI, storytelling, and interactive play for children.
The startup’s product portfolio currently includes Character Cards, illustrated storybooks, and Wippi Radio, designed to offer children interactive experiences without relying on conventional screens.
Wippi’s products are targeted at children aged four years and above, according to the company.
Voice AI Powers Interactive Storytelling
At the centre of Wippi’s offering is its conversational voice AI, which allows children to interact with familiar characters through questions, choices, and story-based conversations.
Children can engage with characters including Ram, Krishna, Alice, Cinderella, and Aladdin, creating interactive storytelling experiences around different narratives.
The company plans to broaden this ecosystem by introducing more characters, languages, and original content as it scales.
Fresh Capital to Support Product and Manufacturing Expansion
Wippi will use the new funding to strengthen its technology capabilities while expanding its operational infrastructure.
Key areas of investment include:
- Development of its voice AI technology
- Expansion of engineering and AI teams
- Scaling manufacturing capabilities in India
- Growth of its direct-to-consumer business
- Expansion of characters and languages
- Development of original content
The startup is also working on collectible figurines and additional AI-powered conversational learning products as it looks to expand beyond its existing portfolio.
Wippi Targets 15,000 Families
As part of its next phase of growth, Wippi aims to reach 15,000 families over the next 12 months.
The company also plans to expand into international markets, potentially taking its screen-free, voice-enabled storytelling products to a wider global audience.
With the combination of conversational AI, physical products, storytelling, and interactive play, Wippi is seeking to build a technology-led children’s entertainment and learning ecosystem that reduces reliance on screens while introducing AI-powered experiences into everyday play.
