AI-native semiconductor verification startup VerifAIX has raised $5 million in a seed funding round co-led by Endiya Partners and Bluehill VC.
The company said the fresh capital will be used for product development, customer deployments and expansion of its engineering teams across the US, India and Israel.
AI-Native Verification for Chip Design
Founded in 2024 by Madhulima Tewari, Kenneth Roe and Avner Landver, VerifAIX is developing an AI-native verification platform designed to help engineering teams verify increasingly complex semiconductor designs with greater speed and rigor.
The platform combines artificial intelligence with formal methods to create a verification trust layer connecting design specifications, RTL and verification assets. The approach is intended to provide traceability from design intent through verification closure.
Introducing the “Formal Brain”
At the centre of VerifAIX’s platform is its “Formal Brain”, which creates a mathematically grounded understanding of a chip design and its intended behaviour.
According to the company, the system reasons across specifications, RTL and verification assets to identify inconsistencies and gaps. This foundation is then used across multiple stages of the verification process, including verification planning, formal analysis, simulation, coverage, debugging and verification closure.
The platform integrates specification-to-RTL reasoning, automated decomposition and abstraction, as well as coordinated formal and simulation verification.
Targeting Complex Silicon Designs
VerifAIX is targeting custom-silicon developers, including semiconductor and IP companies, processor and AI accelerator developers, hyperscalers and systems companies.
As chip designs become more complex, verification has become an increasingly important part of the development process. VerifAIX is seeking to address this challenge by combining AI-driven reasoning with established formal verification techniques while maintaining a connection between verification results and the original design intent.
AI-Native Verification in India
The emergence of VerifAIX comes alongside the development of AI-driven semiconductor verification platforms in India.
Chennai-based deep-tech startup Vyoma Systems, incubated at IIT Madras Pravartak, is developing AI-driven pre-silicon verification through its UpTickPro platform. The platform integrates functional verification, FPGA validation, software bring-up and security analysis.
The activity reflects a broader expansion of India’s semiconductor startup ecosystem beyond chip design and manufacturing into areas such as verification and semiconductor software.
Semiconductor Funding Gains Momentum
Capital flows into India’s semiconductor startup ecosystem have also been increasing. According to a report by Speciale Invest and Startup Policy Forum, semiconductor companies raised $61.9 million in the first half of 2026, taking total funding since 2022 to approximately $206 million.
Recent funding activity includes BigEndian Semiconductors, which raised $6 million for its fabless SoC platform, while HrdWyr raised $13 million in Series A funding to develop AI-native SoCs.
With its latest seed round, VerifAIX plans to accelerate product development and customer deployments while expanding its engineering footprint across the US, India and Israel.
