STCH, an AI-driven startup focused on fabric development and textile manufacturing, has raised $5.5 Million in a pre-Series A funding round. The round was led by Omnivore, with participation from Kae Capital and WVC.
Focus on AI-Led Fabric Innovation
The company plans to use the fresh funds to:
- Expand its AI capabilities
- Set up a dedicated fabric R&D lab
- Strengthen manufacturing partnerships
- Scale delivery across key international markets
Bridging Design and Manufacturing
Founded in 2025 by former Zetwerk executives Narahari Payala and Aseem Chitkara, STCH operates as a contract development and manufacturing (CDMO) platform for fashion brands. Unlike many AI startups in fashion that focus on consumer applications, STCH is targeting the fabric sourcing and innovation layer.
Its platform uses AI to analyse product images and descriptions to identify key fabric attributes such as:
- Texture
- Weight
- Finish
Based on this analysis, it helps recreate similar materials through its network of manufacturing partners.
Faster Fabric-to-Market Cycle
STCH claims it can take a fabric from concept to production in around 45 days, significantly reducing traditional timelines. The company currently works with fashion brands primarily in the UK and Europe, while production is carried out through partner factories across India and Bangladesh.
Growing Momentum in Textile Innovation
The funding comes at a time when innovation in materials and manufacturing is gaining traction. Earlier this year, Whizzo, founded by former Zetwerk executive Shrestha Kukreja, raised $15 million in a Series A round led by Fundamentum.
With its focus on combining AI with manufacturing, STCH aims to streamline fabric development and bring greater speed and efficiency to global fashion supply chains.
