Shark Tank India-Famed ScrapUncle Bags ₹22 Cr Pre-Series A Funding

ScrapUncle, a Delhi based startup that also appeared on Shark Tank India Season 2 has raised ₹3.2 crore during its seed funding round from multiple investors. They secured an investment of ₹60 lakh for 5% equity from Amit Jain during their appearance on Shark Tank India.

According to the company, the newly raised capital will be used to strengthen its presence across the Delhi NCR region, scale its operations with a goal of reaching ₹100 crore in annual recurring revenue, and prepare for expansion into other metro cities.

Founded in 2019 by Mukul Chhabra, ScrapUncle is an on-demand recycling platform that allows households and businesses to schedule doorstep pickups for waste such as e-waste, paper, metals, plastics, cartons, textiles, and even end-of-life vehicles. Users can place pickup requests through the ScrapUncle app or website and receive payments in a transparent manner. ScrapUncle follows a vertically integrated model, meaning it controls the entire waste value chain from collection to processing.

By managing its own collection infrastructure, ScrapUncle aims to maintain service quality while also providing stable incomes, safety standards, and structured training to waste collectors.

ScrapUncle claims it has completed over 3 lakh pickups, recycled more than 20 million kilograms of waste valued at over ₹45 crore and supported close to 200 informal workers through its platform.
