Ahmedabad-based pet care startup TailBlaze Longevity has raised $300,000 in a pre-seed funding round led by US-based venture capital firm Comma Capital. The startup was also featured on Bharat Ke Superfounders.
The fresh capital will be used to launch HeartPour, build a team in Ahmedabad and expand TailBlaze Longevity’s reach among pet parents across India. Ahead of the product launch, the startup plans to provide the first 500 dogs with a free serving of HeartPour, according to a company press release.
Focus on Canine Longevity and Nutrition
Founded in August last year by Manaal Maniyar and Palak Devpura, TailBlaze Longevity is focused on canine nutrition and longevity. The startup aims to help extend dogs’ lives by three to five years through high-protein and lower-carbohydrate nutritional formulations.
Its upcoming product, HeartPour, is a wet dog food line developed through four years of research and development. The formulation combines high protein and superfoods with an Ayurvedic PanchTatva blend comprising curcumin, black pepper, parsley, amla and tulsi.
The company is positioning HeartPour around its focus on nutrition and long-term canine health as it looks to build a broader presence in India’s growing pet care market.
Developing Shelf-Stable Fresh Pet Meals
TailBlaze Longevity has also developed FreshTail, a proprietary technology aimed at manufacturing shelf-stable fresh meals for pets.
Beyond its upcoming wet food range, the startup’s portfolio includes more than 200 products spanning organic dog food, natural treats and pet care accessories. Its offerings include treats made with ingredients such as coconut, hemp, fish and strawberry, along with grooming essentials and accessories.
The startup follows a WhatsApp-first commerce model and also sells through quick-commerce and online platforms, including Blinkit and BBNow.
Funding to Support Expansion
With the latest pre-seed funding, TailBlaze Longevity plans to strengthen its team in Ahmedabad while increasing its reach among pet parents across India.
The company’s initial launch strategy for HeartPour also includes a free product trial for the first 500 dogs, giving the startup an opportunity to introduce its formulation to pet parents as it enters the next phase of its growth.
Pet Nutrition Startups Attract Funding
TailBlaze Longevity’s fundraise comes amid growing activity in India’s pet nutrition and pet care startup ecosystem.
Right4Paws is developing science-based, species-specific whole-food nutrition focused on pet health and longevity. The startup raised ₹14 crore in Series A funding in December last year to expand its manufacturing, research and development capabilities, specialised talent and functional products.
Meanwhile, Benny’s Bowl raised $1.4 million in February this year to develop functional pet foods targeting areas such as gut health, allergies, renal health, skin and coat health, and weight management.
Zoomies also raised ₹5 crore in pre-seed funding in March this year to expand its clean-label, human-grade pet food business.
The broader pet care ecosystem is also attracting significant capital. Supertails, a pet care platform, has raised $30 million in Series C funding and is expanding across technology, personalised care and healthcare services.
For TailBlaze Longevity, the latest funding provides capital to bring HeartPour to market, strengthen its team and scale its nutrition-focused offering as competition in India’s pet care and pet food segment continues to grow.
