Paar Autonomy, a deep-tech robotics startup developing perception hardware and agentic AI for unmanned vehicles, has raised ₹3.5 crore in a pre-seed funding round led by Venture Catalysts.
The capital will be used to set up the company’s first manufacturing line, roll out pilot units for defence and PSU partners, and expand its engineering and business teams. Paar is also in talks with defence organisations, PSUs, and overseas OEMs to provide both turnkey gimballed payloads and AI models that can retrofit UAV, UGV, and USV fleets.
Founded in 2024 by robotics engineer Vignesh Jayaraman, former head of product at a leading drone startup, Paar Autonomy builds multi-sensor, gyro-stabilised gimbals that give unmanned aerial, land, and sea systems “super-human” vision. These systems integrate with proprietary agentic AI models to help machines interpret environments, support operators, and coordinate missions in real time.
The startup is initially focused on the $6 billion global drone perception and autonomy market, with ground and maritime robotics projected to add another $4–5 billion by 2030. Beyond defence, its technology also has dual-use applications in industrial inspection, critical infrastructure monitoring, and disaster management.
By combining Made-in-India IP with a focus on both defence and civilian applications, Paar Autonomy aims to compete with global autonomy players while carving a niche in international markets.
