Mumbai-based women’s wellness and hygiene brand Nua has successfully raised Rs 35 crore in a pre-Series C funding round, led by Mirabilis Investment Trust. The round also attracted participation from prominent investors like Samir Singh and Shuchi Kothari.
Since its inception in 2017, Nua has raised a total of $21.5 million (including this latest round) from investors such as Lightbox VC, Kae Capital, Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone, and Vindi Banga. The funds raised will be deployed to expand Nua’s retail footprint and to launch new products across key channels including online marketplaces, quick commerce, and offline retail.
Co-founded by Abhishek Ramanathan and Ravi Ramachandran, Nua is a digital-first brand that focuses on providing holistic, personalized wellness solutions for women. The brand started with toxin-free sanitary pads and has since broadened its range to include products for intimate hygiene, period panties, cramp relief, postpartum care, and cyclical acne management.
Nua’s commitment to offering high-quality, safe, and effective products, along with fostering a strong community through engaging content, has set it apart in a competitive market. The company plans to continue its growth by introducing innovative new products, expanding its content offerings, and tapping into emerging sales channels in the next 6–8 quarters.
Over the past year, Nua has introduced several new products focusing on comfort and toxin-free ingredients, such as extra-long night pads, menstrual cups, disposable period panties, and postpartum products. These products are available not only on Nua’s website but also on popular e-commerce platforms like Zepto, Amazon, and Flipkart.
As the global feminine hygiene market is projected to grow significantly, reaching approximately $66.7 billion by 2033 from $31.8 billion in 2023, Nua is positioning itself to capture a substantial share of this rapidly expanding sector.
In terms of financial performance, Nua claims it has achieved profitability and experienced over 2.5x revenue growth. The company crossed Rs 100 crore in net revenue ARR in Q3 and is aiming for Rs 150 crore in net revenue ARR by the next quarter.
Competing with industry giants like Whisper, Stayfree, and Sofy, Nua’s focus on product innovation, customer experience, and sustainability has enabled it to carve out a distinct identity in the growing women’s wellness and hygiene space.
