MeshDefend, an emerging AI enterprise data infrastructure company, has successfully closed its first external funding round, securing $2.3 million in a pre-seed round. The investment was spearheaded by notable venture capital firm Kalaari Capital, with additional participation from Kettleborough VC and a collective of experienced industry executives.
This substantial capital infusion marks a significant step for the 2025-founded startup as it prepares to scale its innovative platform designed to simplify complex enterprise data management.
Building the Future of Enterprise Data Management
The fresh capital is earmarked for several critical initiatives that will propel MeshDefend’s growth and platform development:
- Product Development: The primary focus will be on building out its AI-native operating system for enterprise data infrastructure.
- Market Expansion: The company plans to significantly expand its presence in the US and Europe.
- Strategic Partnerships: MeshDefend will actively pursue strategic alliances with key infrastructure vendors to ensure broader market reach.
- Platform Scaling: Investing in its go-to-market plans and scaling its platform to support demanding enterprise use cases.
Agent Mesh: Automating Day-2 Operations
MeshDefend’s core offering is its AI-driven platform, which tackles the mounting challenges of managing modern enterprise data infrastructure. The platform provides a unified approach across complex environments, including backup, storage, multi-cloud, and hybrid setups.
The heart of their technology is Agent Mesh, a vendor-agnostic operating system designed specifically to support large enterprises, managed service providers (MSPs), and global system integrators (GSIs).
Founded by former Dell executives Tejas Pandit and Ravi Chitloor, MeshDefend is laser-focused on automating tedious and resource-intensive Day-2 operations for data protection and storage. By using AI to manage infrastructure and proactively resolve issues across multi-vendor environments, the platform aims to free up IT teams to focus on strategic initiatives rather than routine maintenance.
The company is currently collaborating closely with design partners across IT services, GSIs, and infrastructure vendors to refine and build specific use cases for large-scale data environments, ensuring their solution meets real-world enterprise needs from day one.
