LocalHost Secures $2.5M to Scale Global Startup Launchpads

LocalHost, a specialized incubator for technical and creative entrepreneurs, has closed a $2.5 million angel funding round. The investment saw participation from high-profile backers including InVideo, RedBull India, Anthropic, and Eros International.

The capital injection is earmarked for a significant infrastructure push, specifically focusing on hardware capabilities and the expansion of the company’s “founder labs” into key global tech hubs.

Core Mission and Operations

Founded in 2023 by Kei Hayashi, Suhas Sumukh, and Hardeep Gambhir, LocalHost functions as a physical launchpad for early-stage founders. The program targets the intersection of media, software, and hardware, providing a hands-on environment that differentiates it from purely digital accelerators.

Current operations include:

  • Bengaluru, India: A 50-day intensive lab for 15 selected founders per cohort.

  • International Presence: Active labs in Tokyo and Cluj-Napoca.

  • Future Expansion: New sites are currently under development in San Francisco, with specialized hardware facilities planned for Japan and France.

Driving Early-Stage Innovation

The LocalHost model focuses on removing “execution barriers” through a combination of shared workspaces, direct hardware access, and a dedicated community fund. By providing these resources, the program allows technical founders to move rapidly from concept to prototype.

The curriculum is diverse, with recent participants developing:

  • AI agents and robotics.

  • India-native language models.

  • Multidisciplinary media products.

Ecosystem Impact

Since its inception, LocalHost has become a bridge between raw talent and institutional capital, hosting over 30 venture partners during its demo days. The program has already birthed several emerging startups, including Maya Research, Prava Payments, Dawn Labs, and Whisperwave.

With this new funding, LocalHost aims to solidify its position as a global bridgehead for founders who require more than just a desk and a Wi-Fi connection to build the next generation of physical and digital tools.
