In a major step toward integrating technology with mental wellness, Cadabams Group, one of India’s leading mental healthcare institutions, has invested $7.3 million (Rs 65 crore) in its newly launched digital mental health platform, MindTalk.
The investment marks one of the largest deep-tech initiatives in India’s mental health sector, combining Cadabams’ three decades of clinical expertise with cutting-edge AI and deep learning technologies.
Building a Deep-Tech Ecosystem for Mental Wellness
The funds will be deployed over the next 12 to 18 months to strengthen MindTalk’s AI infrastructure, expand deep learning capabilities, and enhance clinical research integration, the company said in a statement.
MindTalk’s unique deep agent model blends large language models (LLMs), conversational AI, and adaptive learning systems — all trained under the close supervision of clinical experts. Unlike generic AI wellness apps or self-help chatbots, MindTalk offers clinically validated, evidence-based interventions aligned with professional healthcare standards.
“With MindTalk, we are building a clinically intelligent digital companion that can bring structured mental healthcare to anyone with a smartphone — without losing the rigor and empathy of real-world therapy,” said Sandesh Cadabam, Executive Director, Cadabams Group.
Expanding Access Through Technology
The launch of MindTalk reinforces Cadabams’ vision to broaden access to mental healthcare through a hybrid model combining in-person expertise and digital innovation.
Cadabams Hospitals currently operates 42 centres across India and the Maldives, providing psychiatric, psychological, and rehabilitative care. With over 275,000 patients treated to date, the group now plans to scale up to 150–160 centres with a total capacity of 3,500 beds in the coming years.
MindTalk will serve as a digital extension of Cadabams’ clinical ecosystem — using AI-driven insights to offer personalized therapy support, preventive mental health screening, and real-time mood tracking for users nationwide.
Pioneering the Future of Mental Healthcare
By integrating deep tech with clinical psychology, Cadabams aims to redefine how mental health services are delivered in India — bridging gaps in access, affordability, and personalization.
This move positions Cadabams Group at the forefront of India’s digital mental health revolution, setting a benchmark for how traditional healthcare institutions can leverage AI and data-driven therapy models to scale impact.
