Bengaluru-based medical technology startup Ayati Devices has raised Rs 15 crore ($1.5 million) in a Pre-Series A funding round led by Inflexor Ventures.
The fresh capital will help the company accelerate commercialisation, expand its presence across domestic and international markets, strengthen its manufacturing capabilities and increase investments in research and artificial intelligence.
Founded in 2019 by Nishant Kathpal, Ayati Devices develops diagnostic technologies focused on diabetic foot complications and peripheral vascular disease. The startup was incubated at IIT Bombay’s Society for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (SINE) and has built a portfolio of portable, point-of-care diagnostic devices aimed at making early screening more accessible beyond tertiary hospitals.
Building a Wider Diagnostic Portfolio
Ayati Devices’ product portfolio covers multiple stages of diabetic foot assessment.
Its Vibrasense device measures vibration perception threshold to help identify large-fibre peripheral neuropathy. Vibrasense+T adds warm and cold perception testing to the assessment.
For peripheral artery disease screening, the company offers Vasosense, while Angiocam enables real-time tissue perfusion imaging.
Ayati also offers the PODIA Trolley, a pay-per-test screening model designed to reduce the upfront investment required from healthcare providers.
Together, the company’s current platform brings assessments across neuropathy, blood flow, microcirculation and plantar pressure into its diagnostic offering.
Devices Deployed Across 30 Countries
Ayati Devices claims that its technology has been deployed across 30 countries, with more than 10,000 devices deployed and clinical deployments across leading healthcare institutions.
The company’s website currently reports that its solutions have enabled more than 1 million screenings. Ayati works with partners across India as well as international markets as it looks to expand the reach of its diagnostic technologies.
The company’s flagship Vibrasense has also undergone clinical evaluation.
A study involving 562 people with type 2 diabetes compared Vibrasense-based vibration perception threshold testing with conventional biothesiometry and nerve conduction studies for screening diabetic peripheral neuropathy.
Focus on Commercialisation and Global Expansion
With the latest Pre-Series A funding, Ayati Devices plans to move further into commercialisation while expanding its footprint in India and overseas markets.
The company will also invest in manufacturing capacity, research and artificial intelligence as it works to strengthen its diagnostic technology portfolio.
By combining portable point-of-care devices with multiple screening capabilities, Ayati Devices is seeking to make early detection and assessment of diabetic foot complications and peripheral vascular disease more accessible across healthcare settings.
