Sometimes businesses are not started because of a lot of research or a big plan. Sometimes they start because of a problem that someone wants to solve.
For Rohit Yagya, the idea of Event Planet came to him during his sister’s wedding in Uttar Pradesh. The wedding was supposed to be a time for the family but it became very stressful. The prices of things kept changing. The people providing services were not clear about what they would do. Every small decision required a lot of phone calls and discussions. Of enjoying the wedding the family was busy with the details.
That is when Rohit Yagya realized that this was not a problem for his family. This was how most events in India were planned. With a lot of uncertainty and confusion.
Rohit Yagya saw a gap in the event industry
The event industry in India has always relied on relationships and word of mouth.. Rohit Yagya saw that this system was not very clear. Families were spending a lot of money without knowing what they were getting.
There was no information about prices or what services they would get. It was hard to compare options and plan a budget. Planning an event, which should be a meaningful experience, was often filled with uncertainty and financial worries.
Rohit Yagya did not want to change the way Indians celebrate. He just wanted to make it easier to plan celebrations.
Event Planet made a change in how people plan events
They started wedding bundle packages that include everything. Venue, decorations, food, photography and entertainment. This way families did not have to look for different vendors. They could get everything they needed in one package.
Booking a venue was not about getting a physical space. It meant getting access to all the services they needed. This made it clear what they were paying for. They could plan their budget with confidence. They did not have to worry about last-minute negotiations or hidden costs. What used to take weeks to plan could now be done faster.
Event Planet also made prices transparent
One of the problems with planning events was that prices were not consistent. They would change depending on who you knew or how well you could negotiate.
Event Planet changed this. They showed prices upfront so families could compare options. Make informed decisions. They did not have to rely on connections or negotiation skills. Planning an event became more about clarity and less about bargaining.
Event Planet added structure to event planning without taking the emotional part.
Even though they made event planning more organized and clear they still respected the nature of celebrations. They did not want to replace planning methods but to improve them by verifying venues standardizing services and clearly defining what they offered.
This created order in an industry that was mostly offline but still kept the essence of celebrations.
Event Planet also earned the trust of vendors
At first vendors were cautious. They had seen many platforms come and go without delivering any value.. Event Planet was different. They were transparent and kept costs creating real opportunities for partners.
As vendors started getting bookings they began to trust Event Planet. Over time their skepticism turned into collaboration.
The company got a boost when they received $250K in seed investment from Virendra Prasad.
This investment helped Event Planet improve their technology, expand their vendor partnerships and refine their packages. All while staying true to their mission of building trust in the event industry.
Event Planet’s impact goes beyond their customers.
Vendors who used to rely on demand and personal networks now have more consistent business opportunities. This has helped create stability for mid-sized event service providers.
Looking ahead
For Rohit Yagya, Event Planet is more than a platform. It is a step towards bringing trust, transparency and structure to the event industry in India. Without taking the joy and emotion of celebrations.
Weddings, anniversaries and milestones should be remembered for their happiness. Not stress.
Through Event Planet, Rohit Yagya is working to ensure that planning is seamless and celebrations are remembered only for their happiness.
