Kent New Energy, backed by water purifier manufacturer Kent RO Systems, has commissioned a new manufacturing facility in Sector 159, Noida, to produce solar hybrid inverters and modular lithium battery packs, marking its expansion into the renewable energy and energy storage market.
The facility has an initial manufacturing capacity of 3.5 GWh, which the company plans to scale up to 10 GWh within six months. The project involves an investment of more than ₹250 crore and will support Kent’s growing portfolio of solar energy storage solutions, including rooftop solar systems and power backup products.
The company is also planning a larger manufacturing project in the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) region, near the upcoming Noida International Airport. Kent has secured a 25-acre plot for the proposed facility, which is expected to span approximately 11 lakh sq ft of covered area.
The project is expected to attract an investment of around ₹500 crore over the next three years, including ₹300 crore for construction and ₹200 crore for equipment.
Kent RO Systems Managing Director Mahesh Gupta said the company would finance the expansion through internal accruals rather than external funding. The proposed facility will cater to the production requirements of its existing portfolio while providing capacity for future growth.
Kent Targets ₹1,750 Crore Revenue in FY27
Kent RO Systems is targeting revenue of approximately ₹1,750 crore in FY27, representing an increase of nearly 30% over the ₹1,350 crore turnover recorded in FY26.
The company expects its newer businesses, including solar energy solutions, hybrid inverters and lithium battery packs, to contribute to its growth alongside its established water purification and brushless direct current (BLDC) fan segments.
The entry into solar energy products represents a diversification strategy for the Noida-headquartered company, which is seeking to tap opportunities in India’s expanding residential renewable energy market.
Government initiatives such as the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, which promotes rooftop solar adoption among households, are expected to support demand for residential solar installations and associated energy storage products.
Kent Looks to Expand Exports, Rules Out Immediate IPO
Kent is also looking to strengthen its international business as part of its growth strategy. The company’s exports currently generate around ₹50 crore in revenue, with products sold through distributors in markets including Kuwait, Dubai, Saudi Arabia, African countries, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.
According to Gupta, the company has held discussions with prospective buyers in Europe who have expressed interest in its battery products. Kent is exploring opportunities to expand its battery exports into the European market.
The company has ruled out an immediate initial public offering (IPO) and private equity investment, with management indicating a preference for financing expansion through internal resources.
With its new manufacturing facility, planned capacity expansion and investment in additional infrastructure, Kent is positioning its new energy business as another growth avenue alongside its core water purification operations.
