Suminter India Organics, a company focused on organic and sustainably sourced food ingredients, has secured Rs 25 crore (approximately $2.6 million) in debt funding from BlackSoil Capital. The fresh capital will help the company expand its sourcing capabilities while strengthening its partnerships with more than 100,000 smallholder farmers across India, the Philippines, and Africa.
The funding comes as demand for certified organic and sustainably sourced food ingredients continues to grow across global markets.
Led by Sameer Mehra, Suminter India Organics operates a fully integrated farm-to-market platform that manages every stage of the supply chain, including sourcing, certification, processing, and global distribution. Its platform is designed to provide complete traceability while supporting regenerative farming practices and improving the livelihoods of farmers.
The company supplies a wide range of certified organic and sustainably sourced products, including spices, coconut products, oilseeds, cocoa, sweeteners, and natural fibres, to leading food and ingredient brands across the United States, Europe, and other international markets.
According to the company, the newly raised funds will primarily be used to source high-quality organic food ingredients at scale. It also plans to deepen its engagement with its extensive network of farming communities spread across multiple countries.
Suminter’s business model focuses on bringing smallholder farmers into the global organic supply chain through certified farming practices and transparent sourcing. By connecting farmers directly to international food and feed markets, the company aims to create sustainable income opportunities while ensuring quality assurance and end-to-end traceability for global customers.
With more than 100,000 smallholder farmers already connected to its ecosystem across India, the Philippines, and Africa, Suminter continues to strengthen its position as a key player in the global organic food ingredients market through sustainable sourcing and responsible agriculture.
