Deep tech startup Albatross Energetics has raised $1.05 million (approximately Rs 10 crore) in a Pre-Series A funding round led by Transition VC. The fresh capital will enable the company to scale manufacturing, accelerate commercial deployments, and advance its proprietary energy-efficient cooling technology for industrial applications.
The Mumbai-based startup had previously secured Rs 1.3 crore in funding in 2024 from Social Alpha and SINE, laying the foundation for the development and commercialization of its innovative air conditioning and dehumidification solutions.
According to the company, the newly raised funds will be utilized to establish pilot-scale manufacturing capabilities, expand commercial deployments across multiple industrial sectors, strengthen its engineering and quality assurance teams, and accelerate research and development efforts.
Founded in 2021 by Sudarsan M S and Srihari B, Albatross Energetics develops energy-efficient air conditioning and dehumidification systems designed specifically for industrial environments. The startup’s proprietary liquid desiccant technology removes moisture directly from the air, significantly reducing the energy required for humidity control compared to conventional cooling systems.
The company’s solutions cater to industries where precise humidity management is critical, including pharmaceuticals, semiconductors, electronics, batteries, food processing, chemicals, and textiles. By improving energy efficiency, Albatross helps manufacturers lower operating costs while reducing their carbon footprint.
According to the company, humidity control remains one of the most energy-intensive and operationally critical components of industrial cooling systems. Its proprietary liquid desiccant platform aims to address this challenge by offering a more sustainable and cost-effective alternative for industrial climate control.
Looking ahead, Albatross Energetics plans to expand the application of its technology beyond industrial facilities into commercial buildings and broader global cooling markets, opening new opportunities in the rapidly growing energy-efficient HVAC sector.
The startup operates in an increasingly competitive global market, where it faces competition from companies such as BlueFrontier, Mojave, and Transaera. With growing demand for sustainable cooling technologies driven by industrial decarbonization and energy efficiency goals, Albatross aims to strengthen its position as an innovator in next-generation climate control solutions.
