SportVot Raises ₹32.7 Crore to Scale AI-Led Sports Streaming Globally

In a world where elite sports dominate screens, a vast majority of grassroots competitions remain invisible. Mumbai-based SportVot is working to change that narrative and its latest funding round signals growing investor confidence in the opportunity.

The sports-tech startup has raised ₹32.7 crore in a funding round led by IAN Alpha Fund, with participation from Anicut Capital, LetsVenture, Capital A, Succeed Innovation, and angel investors including Garima Vohra and Gaurav Chanana.

This follows its earlier ₹9.4 crore pre-Series A round led by Omidyar Network India in February 2024.

Bringing Grassroots Sports to the Digital Stage

Founded in 2019 by Sidhhant Agarwal, Shubhangi Gupta, and Yash Bhagwatkar, SportVot provides a full-stack digital platform for sports streaming and talent discovery.

Its core mission is to make professional-grade sports broadcasting accessible to leagues, tournaments, and associations that have traditionally lacked the resources to go live.

By leveraging cloud-based technology and AI-led production tools, the startup is helping democratise sports visibility particularly at the grassroots level.

Massive Scale, Global Reach

SportVot has already achieved significant traction:

  • 500,000+ matches streamed
  • Presence across 30+ countries
  • Audience reach exceeding 100 million viewers

Its footprint spans key global markets, including North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Australia, reflecting growing international demand for accessible sports content.

Solving a $Untapped Problem in Sports Broadcasting

According to the company, nearly 99% of sports played globally go unstreamed, primarily due to:

  • High production costs
  • Limited access to broadcasting infrastructure
  • Lack of technical expertise

SportVot aims to bridge this gap by offering cost-effective, scalable streaming solutions, enabling even small tournaments to reach global audiences.

Monetisation Beyond Streaming

The startup has built a multi-layered revenue model, which includes:

  • Charging tournament organisers and sports bodies for production and streaming
  • Pay-per-view access for audiences
  • Subscription-based services
  • Brand partnerships and sponsorship integrations

This diversified approach allows SportVot to monetise both content creation and distribution effectively.

Funding to Power AI and Global Expansion

The newly raised capital will be used to:

  • Expand international operations
  • Strengthen AI-led production capabilities
  • Enhance distribution infrastructure

As content consumption shifts toward digital platforms, AI-driven production tools could significantly reduce costs while improving scalability.

Competitive Landscape

SportVot operates in an emerging but competitive segment alongside players like CricHeroes and FanCode.

However, its strong focus on grassroots sports and AI-powered broadcasting provides a differentiated positioning.

The Bigger Trend: Democratising Sports Content

The rise of platforms like SportVot reflects a broader shift in the sports ecosystem where technology is enabling:

  • Wider access to content creation
  • Discovery of untapped talent
  • New monetisation opportunities for local leagues

The Road Ahead

With fresh funding and a proven model, SportVot is well-positioned to scale its vision of making every match streamable.

As the global appetite for sports content continues to grow, the company’s success will depend on how effectively it leverages AI, partnerships, and international expansion to capture this largely untapped market.

In doing so, SportVot is not just building a streaming platform it is helping reshape how sports are discovered, consumed, and monetised across the world.
