Galgotias University has appointed Ujjwal Pratap as its Director of Strategic Communications and Public Relations. The move comes as the university looks to strengthen its brand presence and expand stakeholder engagement during its next phase of growth.
In his new role, Pratap will lead the university’s communication strategy, including media relations, internal communications, thought leadership initiatives, and brand-building efforts. His work will focus on engaging key stakeholders such as students, parents, faculty, recruiters, regulators, and global partners.
Commenting on the appointment, Dr. Dhruv Galgotia, CEO, Galgotias University, said the university is entering a new phase of academic ambition and wider visibility. He added that Pratap’s experience across institutions and international organisations will help strengthen how the university communicates its progress, research, and long-term vision.
Sharing his thoughts, Ujjwal Pratap said that Galgotias University is at an important stage in its journey, with growing recognition and expanding goals. He emphasised his focus on building a modern communication framework that keeps stakeholders informed while clearly presenting the university’s achievements and aspirations.
Pratap brings over two decades of experience across sectors such as higher education, financial services, consulting, and corporate communications. Before joining Galgotias University, he served as Director of Branding and Communications at Ahmedabad University, where he handled brand strategy, media engagement, digital positioning, and strategic campaigns.
Earlier in his career, he has worked with global organisations including The Bank of New York Mellon, Teleperformance, and Bain & Company. His work has included media relations, executive communications, and reputation management across regions such as North America, Southeast Asia, and EMEA.
Academically, Pratap is an alumnus of Indian Institute of Mass Communication. He holds a BA (Hons.) in Political Science from University of Delhi, has completed an executive program in finance from Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode, and also holds a law degree.
The appointment comes at a time when Galgotias University is expanding its academic reach, strengthening industry and global partnerships, and increasing its focus on research, innovation, and student outcomes.
