Sofitel Mumbai BKC Brings Himalayan Flavours to the City with Limited-Time Culinary Showcase

Mumbai’s food lovers have something special to look forward to as Sofitel Mumbai BKC introduces a unique Himalayan food festival at its in-house dining space, Pondichéry Café.

Titled “From the Mountains to Mumbai – A Himalayan Feast,” the limited-time culinary experience is inspired by renowned chef Michael Swamy’s travels across regions such as McLeod Ganj, Uttarakhand, and Bhutan. The specially curated menu brings authentic flavours of the Himalayan belt to the heart of Mumbai.

The showcase focuses on traditional recipes shaped by the region’s climate and culture, offering diners a chance to explore comforting and rustic mountain cuisine without leaving the city. Guests can begin their meal with dishes like buckwheat momos served with spicy Dalle chilli chutney or a warm bowl of Thenthuk noodle broth. One of the highlights includes Ema Datshi, a well-known Bhutanese dish made with chilli and cheese.

For those seeking richer flavours, options like stone-cooked river trout with wild garlic butter and Bhutanese honey chilli glazed chicken wings are also part of the menu. Vegetarian dishes such as apricot kernel salad and Skyu dumplings ensure a balanced spread for all preferences.

The Himalayan Food Promotion will run from April 20 to April 25, 2025, from Monday to Saturday between 7:00 PM and 11:00 PM. The dinner is priced at ₹3499++ for adults and ₹1750++ for children. A special Sunday brunch will be hosted on April 26, 2025, from 12:30 PM to 4:00 PM, starting at ₹3999++.

Located in Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex, Sofitel Mumbai BKC is known for blending French luxury with Indian hospitality. With 302 rooms and multiple dining options, the hotel continues to offer curated experiences that go beyond traditional dining.

Globally, Sofitel operates over 120 properties and is part of the Accor group, which manages more than 5,500 hotels across 110 countries.

This limited-time event offers a rare opportunity for Mumbai residents to experience the depth and richness of Himalayan cuisine in an elegant setting.
