Panasonic Life Solutions India (PLSIND) is stepping up its startup collaboration strategy with the launch of the ‘Co. Lab Studio by IGNITION Roadshow in Bengaluru. Held at KEONICS, HSR Layout, the event brought together startups, ecosystem partners, and government representatives to explore real-world innovation opportunities.
The initiative is part of Panasonic’s broader push to build scalable solutions through its AI-powered connected living platform, MirAIe. Unlike traditional innovation programs, the roadshow focused on practical collaboration, enabling direct interaction between startups and decision-makers through keynotes, startup pitches, and panel discussions.
To drive execution, Panasonic has partnered with LINK Innovation as the operating partner for the program. While Panasonic retains full ownership of strategy, platform, and branding under its IGNITION initiative, LINK Innovation will support startup sourcing, pilot execution, and integration into business operations.
The program has already attracted strong interest, receiving over 120 applications from startups across India within just four weeks. The goal is to move beyond ideation and proof-of-concept stages, and instead focus on deploying real solutions that address business challenges.
Participation from the Government of Karnataka added further momentum to the initiative. Representatives highlighted K-tech programs, existing startup support systems, and policy frameworks that encourage collaboration between enterprises and startups.
Manish Misra, Chief Innovation Officer at India Innovation Centre (IIC), PLSIND, said that India’s combination of engineering talent, startup energy, and evolving consumer demand makes it an ideal market for innovation. He added that platforms like MirAIe are helping Panasonic create solutions that can quickly move from pilot to large-scale deployment.
Souad Tenfiche, CEO of LINK Innovation, emphasized the importance of building a repeatable co-creation model where startups are not just identified but integrated into enterprise ecosystems to deliver measurable outcomes.
A key highlight of the event was a fireside discussion on “From Pilots to Platforms,” which explored how startups and enterprises can bridge the gap between experimentation and large-scale implementation. The discussion focused on interoperability, platform-based ecosystems, and the need for faster transitions from pilot projects to market-ready solutions.
As Panasonic plans to take Co.lab Studio into future cycles with sector-specific cohorts, the company aims to build a strong pipeline of enterprise-ready startups. The initiative reflects Panasonic’s evolving role in India, not just as a technology provider, but as a platform-driven enabler of innovation.
Founded in 1918, the Panasonic Group is a global leader in technology and solutions across sectors including electronics, housing, automotive, and energy. The company reported consolidated net sales of 8,496.4 billion yen for the financial year ending March 31, 2024.
