Hyderabad-based connected factory platform Workroom Automation has secured Rs 6.2 crore in a seed funding round led by Equirus InnovateX Fund. The round also saw participation from Astir Ventures and Venture Catalysts Group, along with angel investors including Bhavik Dholakia, Vishal Shah, Varun Patel, Viraj Lavingia, and Bhavin Sodavadiya.
The company plans to use the fresh capital to enhance its product capabilities, strengthen its core platform, and scale its go-to-market strategy. It will also focus on improving its AI-powered planning engine, expanding automation features, and building deeper integrations with ERP, MES, and shopfloor systems. Additionally, investments will be made in enterprise sales, partnerships, and customer success functions.
Founded by Abhinav Atthota and Rohan Agarwal, Workroom Automation is building a connected factory platform that acts as an intelligence layer across manufacturing operations. Its system integrates data from ERP software, MES systems, machines, and shopfloor workflows to enable real-time decision-making and automated execution.
At the core of its offering is an AI-driven planning engine that translates demand into daily production schedules. The platform can dynamically adjust plans based on constraints such as machine availability, material supply, and workforce changes, helping manufacturers improve efficiency, reduce delays, and optimise capacity utilisation.
The startup has already begun deploying its platform across factories in sectors such as automotive, electronics, industrial machinery, and consumer goods. It is now focusing on expanding deployments across multiple plants within enterprises and growing its presence among mid-sized and large manufacturing companies.
With its long-term vision, Workroom Automation aims to build a unified operating system for manufacturing, combining planning, orchestration, and automation to move towards more autonomous factory operations.
