Pype AI Secures $1.2 Million Pre-Seed Funding to Launch US Expansion and Advance Hospital AI Front Desk

Pype AI, the innovative AI front desk platform designed for hospitals and clinics, has successfully raised $1.2 million in a pre-seed funding round. The investment was spearheaded by Kalaari Capital, with notable participation from Wyser Capital and Tenity.

Funding to Fuel Platform Enhancement and US Market Entry

The fresh capital will be strategically deployed to significantly enhance Pype AI’s healthcare communication platform and to support its ambitious expansion into the United States market.

Founded in 2024 by Dhruv Mehra and Ashish Tripathy, Pype AI specializes in developing voice-based AI agents that automate critical front-desk tasks. These agents handle responsibilities such as:

  • Appointment scheduling

  • Follow-up communications

  • Treatment preparation guidance

  • Providing round-the-clock patient support

Trained on extensive medical conversational datasets, the company aims to ensure its agents deliver both accurate and empathetic patient interactions.

Focus on Compliance and Integration

In addition to its core product, Pype AI has developed Whispey, an open-source observability platform featuring over 40 evaluations to guarantee compliance and performance. By integrating with hospital Electronic Medical Records (EMR), the Pype AI platform is designed to:

  • Reduce missed appointments

  • Lower operational costs

  • Improve overall patient retention

Pype AI is already operational in various Indian healthcare facilities and reports automating more than 85 percent of patient queries. For its US expansion, the company is actively integrating with major systems including Zocdoc, Epic, and Cerner while onboarding US-based clinic networks.

The startup has set a target to partner with more than 50 hospitals and clinic chains by mid-2026 and is collaborating with medical experts on research focused on AI-driven improvements in patient adherence.
