ExtraMile Play Raises $500K Seed Funding to Scale AI-Driven Gamified Employee Engagement

ExtraMile Play, a gamified employee engagement platform, has successfully raised approximately $500,000 in a seed funding round. The investment validates the growing demand for tech-driven solutions to address the challenges of connectivity and retention in the hybrid work era.

The round was led by premier accelerator fund GSF, with significant participation from Mount Judi Ventures, GrowthSense, and Growth91. This follows a previous angel round of ₹80 lakhs.

The Problem: Making Hybrid Workplaces “Human”

Founded in 2011 by Pooja Bajaj, ExtraMile Play has evolved its employee engagement services into a powerful B2B SaaS platform. It moves beyond generic HR activities, focusing on using behavioral science and gamification to drive tangible results across remote, hybrid, and in-office teams.

ExtraMile Play aims to make workplaces more human and connected through AI-driven, gamified experiences that enhance engagement, learning, and wellbeing. The platform enables enterprises to build consistent and measurable engagement programs that align play, purpose, and productivity.

Scalable Traction and Product Innovation

The platform boasts a comprehensive library of over 180 digital and virtual activities, allowing enterprises to build consistent and scalable programs.

  • Enterprise Adoption: Over the past year, ExtraMile Play has partnered with over 100 enterprises spanning critical sectors including BFSI, Retail, Pharma, Consulting, and IT.

  • Scale of Impact: The platform has successfully engaged more than 1.5 lakh employees globally.

  • Marquee Clients: Its client list includes major names like Motilal Oswal, EY, Cipla, Aditya Birla Capital, Edelweiss, and Nexus Malls.

  • New Verticals: The company has recently launched new product lines focused on learning games, DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion), and wellbeing—addressing key strategic HR pillars.

Future Roadmap: Global Expansion and AI Integration

The fresh capital will be strategically deployed to solidify the company’s market leadership and scale globally:

  1. Product Innovation: Strengthening core offerings with technology upgrades and enhanced AI capabilities.

  2. Market Expansion: Expanding into new enterprise verticals within India and accelerating growth into global markets.

  3. R&D: Developing the platform’s ability to provide more sophisticated, data-backed insights on engagement ROI.

This funding positions ExtraMile Play at the forefront of the global ‘Future of Work’ movement, demonstrating that employee satisfaction and productivity are increasingly driven by smart, gamified technology.
